What did Reem even do tonight? Did she have something in the first like, 30 seconds-ish that I missed? Because otherwise it was just something about stairs, then "Don't get excited dude." Not sure how that puts her above a ruthless Aurora when you're on the positive side of that (and fwiw I am too; Aurora and Rick were the saviors of this episode).

The editors don't give a shit about Kama dynamics for some reason.

Also, wtf at all this Rick love? He sucks lol, it was so satisfying to see him get owned here. Like sure, they voted him out but we all remember how that tribal was about how they were all super tight and how much it sucked to get anyone out, right? And they needed challenge strength, Rick kept trying to get Lauren out (who was their tribe's physical MVP) because she was "weak". David and Rick of all people making that argument was embarrassing. Like at worst he should try to be more open, he has a prime chance to play middle but is instead closing doors and playing like an idiot.

Finally, Wardog is amazing, get taste. Say what you will about his methods but he's been constantly on top of strategy and he's one of the most notable personalities of the season.

Ricks implosion as a player began here, i'm surprised anybody could have interpreted this scene as "owning" wardog

maybe there's some cathartic release in someone not taking wardog's shit, but this was seriously bad gameplay from rick and it only got worse from there. he burned relationships with a significant portion of the game and his closest ally for literally no reason

the eye rolls he was giving in tribal were especially dumb. eoe must have broken him because he's letting attitude take the wheel

I'm GLAD Rick is letting attitude take the wheel. I'd MUCH rather him react to "Kelley/Lauren/Wardog voted me out, and then tried to get me out immediately afterwards" with disdain for Wardog's constant strategizing, than just immediately accept it and start thinking about the numbers, like David does.

It's incredibly entertaining. It's finally developing a character and story arc for him. He's using the "fool me twice" approach and throwing it back at them.

He's still in a better position than the rest of Lesu. They have to bank on last night's vote being an actual representation of new alliances when all indications say that it was just a temporary thing to break up the Ron/Eric power couple.

with all respect, we are in a much different era of television than when survivor started. netflix, hulu, etc, have all brought us into a world where people can, and often do, skip those parts to just jump into the show. the show has noticed and is trying to have more show and less of the stuff that (basically) nobody is watching. along with avoiding spoiling stuff by not having to remind us who does and doesn't have idols/advantages, that's a net gain for the fans.

i actually think that was crazy of Aurora to make that offer to Victoria when Lauren might literally have just died or suffered something very serious. If it had been a few moments and it was clear Lauren was okay and they were still just checking her out, then it's fine I guess, they are just continuing with the challenge while this Lauren stuff continues nearby.

But it looks like she went for it immediately after Lauren fell and people were still figuring out wtf was going on. Which is really short sighted, it both makes her look completely uncaring towards Lauren's situation and actually IS completely uncaring towards her, so in addition to being shitty, it hurts image with the rest of the tribe. Like, right NOW is when you want to bring up your insecurity in the tribe? Well, you should be insecure, because now everyone hates you. Very bad move by Aurora on all fronts.

They already had a medical team attending to her. Jeff said to keep the challenge going. There was another season where the first tribe to finish in a three-tribe challenge had someone experience a medical emergency, and the other tribes were instructed to continue the challenge. She was fine, but the taxing challenge ultimately saw at least one person on all three tribes require medical attention after finishing and one of them was in bad enough shape to need to be pulled from the game. These guys are professionals, they know when someone is in serious danger. If Jeff thought the challenge needed to be stopped, he would have stopped it.

Julie was super annoying.

I get it, you're a moral authority in a game for a million dollars, but Aurora can't stop campaigning just because something random happened.

If I'm up there, I'm praying everyone faints -_-

I mean, they did continue the challenge, which is fine, but talking to the other contestants about her place in the game, making deals, and talking about trust is an inherently emotional plea for reassurance which is about more than just the challenge. To make that kind of emotional plea when peoples emotions are extremely tied up in the literal medical emergency happening right in front of her is callous and shortsighted.

Lauren just collapsed off her stand and right now is when you want us to talk to you about how you feel left out of the tribe? You are going to make right now about you? I would be really annoyed with Aurora then too.

It was a little tactless but I dont think she should be vilified for it the way some people are and if anything I think it just gives her a character when she was sorely lacking one until last night.

I dont necessary have an issue with Aurora wheeling and dealing while Lauren was dead, I just couldnt stand how whiny she was coming off while doing so

I dont blame her, it was an emotional plea. That was the time or she couldve fallen off, and she probably was close for her to try that. Final 2 in the challenge meant she only had to convince 1 person. There was no time to wait or risk falling.

I liked Aurora AND Julie in that scene. Aurora for clearly taking the Joe blindside personally and going cutthroat when she had a chance at immunity. And Julie for continuing the same emotional reasoning that led to her protecting Rick last week, only to be hurt that Aurora would so casually dismiss Lauren's fainting spell. It's the equivalent of Lill defending Fairplay with "His grandmother just DIED, Sandra!"

Wow. I really liked that episode and I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the response here was lukewarm.

I don't love Aurora talking basically over Lauren's body but I thought she was a badass in the moment there. Julia finally getting her screentime. good play by the wardog. Like I get Rick being pissy but man you gotta do it in confessional. In Survivor you gotta keep your doors open.

The women this season are really good and I hope they keep getting their screentime because they are strong women without being overbearing to the point of being like a b**** and that's my favorite.

EDIT: I feel like my point about the women makes it sound like I don't like women when they are top strong. What I meant was that I don't like it when they are kind of over the top. The best example I have on the top of my head is Ciera Eastin.

i thought it was interesting to see the contrasting styles of gameplay between david and wardog this week

while the heavy-handed approach seemed to immediately turn any chance of reconciling with rick away, david went with the careful approach to draw a line, but still show respect for rick as a person, and understand his individual decision (which may or may not help him down the line)

on the other hand, the agressive approach with julia/gavin seemed to pay off immediately, showing wardog has a pretty accurate sense of the groups' dynamics, even if his style isn't so smooth

should be neat to see where this goes at the very least!
