Max was 72. Guessing the missing 4 was from the hidden quest in Nord. On Day 2 (well it feels like Day 1 since the real Day 1 is all travel) after the morning tasks are complete and you get the afternoon ones (North Highlands open up) there's a hidden quest at Zender Gate. You need to talk to Sharl (the girl there who is Thoma's friend) twice (first time you talk she talks with Gaius I think) and you get a quest where she wants to make a scarf for Thoma that requires some bouncing around between Zender and the Settlement.

Also, oh ya go my chapter 4. Chapter 4 is what I generally consider the beginning of the turning point in Cold Steel.

Lechter's actually a fairly important character in Trails of Azure. He doesn't show up too much in Cold Steel because of that.
