My plan is to watch between 3-5 episodes a day until the next season starts so that I can be all caught up. Ill post progress and thoughts in this topic. And hopefully in April we can talk about season 8

Finished episode 1. Lots of people to keep track of.

I know Stark has five kids, but I think I only saw 4 of them, if Jon Snow doesnt count.

The blonde girl is sooooooo hot but its gross af how her brother and the dothraki king use her as a piece of meat. They are super hot together though.

Lots of boobs. The dwarf character whoring around while his family is doing royal stuff is pretty funny.

I dont think I really understand what the wall is.

I know from internet memes the prince is a jerk but he didnt have any lines this episode.

It's worse when I realized she's actually 13 years old in the book at the time of her wedding. Hell, besides the parents, majority of the cast are practically teenagers/kids at the start of the series.

Not a lot of Jon but hes at the wall now.

The queen and her brother are trying to kill Bran because he saw them having sex, right? And at the beginning of the episode they were talking about the Hand of the King knowing too much. Are the queen and her brother killing everyone who knows about their affair?

Lots of talk about the old king and how the targaryians (sp?) fit into it all. As far as I understand, the targs used to be kings, but the king went loco and so the [current] queens brother killed him. Then by coincidence she married the new king to become queen. And the new king is bff with Ned. And across the sea the blonde boy is planning to take the throne back. Such drama!

Wonder if the old king died because he knew about the affair :0

Oh man and that scene between the blonde chick and her maid? Ugh so hot wtf

Yeah by my calculations I can catch up if I watch about 4 episodes a day. Well see.

This was 14 years prior to the events of season 1. That was "Robert's Rebellion".

Dany is so hot it hurts. Her acting queenly makes her the best character. Its also nice that shes not caught up with the ongoing Stark drama. Not yet, anyway. And her brother is totes getting murdered lmao.

Arya is the most interesting of the Stark Kids. Sansa is annoying, Robb is forgettable, Bran is boring except for being a small part of this plot to overthrow the king, and Rickon isnt even real.

Lady Stark is gonna bone the dude who owns the brothels 5 sure.

The king is an ass to the kingslayer, but is that enough of a reason to kill him? What are he and the queen up to? And why is their brother the chillest dude?

Oh! And Danys translator guy. Whats his deal? His dad was someone important and then he did something bad and got banned from the kingdom? Is slavetrading really that bad in this world? My bets are hes using Dany for some ulterior motive than just bringing the rightful king back to the throne.

Oh boy it really is a game of thrones now. Robb and the Starks vs Tywin and the Lannisters. Wooooo boy. And Dany is starting to prep for a journey abroad.

Sansa is such a sellout I hate her so much.

The white walker plot line is definitely exciting, and adds a good dash of horror to the show.

Varys and the creepy skinny dude are such snakes I love it.

Cersei is a bitchhhhh.

They were among the richest Houses due to all the gold mines on their land. Tywin Lannister himself was the previous Hand of the King to Mad King Aerys.

They were in a favourable position and I think Tywin wanted Cersei to marry Rhaegar. However I think Aerys thought the Lannisters too low of a family to have that happen and instead promised Rhaegar to Elia. Jaime was also made Kingsguard which further pissed off Tywin cause now that deny him being able to make Jaime his heir.

That was such a great episode. So many kings fighting for the throne. Eeeeee

I hope Robb and Stannis join together, and agree that Stannis can have six kingdoms but Robb will independently lead the North. Then I hope Dany comes in and takes it all back for the Targaryens.

Not a whole lot about beyond the wall this episode, except they mentioned a King-beyond-the-wall, Mace (?), who used to be a watchman I think.

The end scene of Joffrey threatening his mother and then commanding the city guard to murder Roberts illegitimate children was intense.

Theon betraying Robb for the love of a father who obviously wont love him.

Gay king too in love with his wifes brother to have sex with her.

Arya being captured but sparing Gendry.

Sansa still sucks and everything is her fault.

Tyrion is awesome. Hes definitely getting murdered soon. Or his gf is getting killed. Too clever for his own good.

Nothing on Robb or Dany this episode, and very little about Jon. Kind of slow, but big implications.

The Red Woman is terrifying. She just gave birth to some demon shadow monster. So I guess that means her god is the true god huh? Crazy secret magic definitely puts Stannis closer to the throne than I gave him credit for.

Also I will forever hate Cat if she gives up Jamie for Sansa. Thats ridiculous and treasonous.

Speaking of treason, looks like Theon is devoted to backstabbing the Starks. Thats definitely going to poke some holes in Robbs war efforts.

Dany is too proud for her own good, but her dragons are gonna raise hell if she ever manages to get an army together.

Most likely to get the throne after Joffrey (who is definitely getting usurped by seasons end):

Stannis > Dany > Renly
And Robb will go to war with the Greyjoys after Stannis gives the North independence in thanks for Ned being on his side.

The north is under attack and Theon is terrible. Bran is having visions about something bad happening and the wilding girl knows it.... maybe has something to do with the White Walkers.

Jon is going on a mission to kill Mance. I dont think I 100% understand why they feel the need to protect the realm. The people north of the wall dont seem like wild animals... just a bit harsher, maybe. And as far as I know theyre just trying to escape the WW and the coming winter.

What is Tyrion gonna do with all that wildfire?

I still think Stannis is sitting on the throne at the end of this season. Not too sure if hell be okay with the norths rebellion though.

Also WHAT IS LITTLEFINGER UP TO??? Trade Sansa for Jamie, then marry the super super super hot redhead to Joffrey? That makes sense in a pro-Joffrey sort of way, but Baelish is all about getting Cat, and tricking her about Arya is not how you get to be Cats rebound.
