eh, it's good if you didn't have a wind chain. even for the other elements, going from no chain to gen 1 chain is gonna make more of a difference than any USB, which many people have happily paid $30 for.

personally i won't be doing it because i have a chain for every element except holy and don't care about WoL as a character. also this banner's existence kinda signals a chance that i could buy Ramza's in the future, so i may as well wait for that. plus might get it for free in the meantime.

Two achievements, I finally finished all realm dungeons and leveled up everyone to 99 feels good. Next up is finishing out the 4* magicites and try to take down a DWhale torment.

For dream draws I'm probably just gonna do the chain draw for Ingus since earth is the only element I'm missing

Only one shiny relic from the daily in the last month or so but it was a good one, Gabranth USB. Sounds good on paper and gives a boost to a realm where I'm lacking a bit in high quality SBs

Bartz awakening is actually fantastic, congrats on that pull!

I think Im going Zack as well for the chain. I have Terra awakening, so a fire chain isnt super pressing. I have a decent amount of holy options for the time being, and Bartz can help cover earth for now as well. He can cover wind too, but Zack + Cloud = death, so theres that.

Zack is definitely the best chain to pick, though i gotta correct you about Terra's awakening. without a chain it's hard to get much over 10k damage on an AASB, and then all you really have is an ability double USB with an extra 20-30% damage. especially Terra, who doesn't even get chasers. should be fine for 4* magicite but 5* might still be tough.

I also did 6 pulls on banner 4 and got a bunch of useless Faris/Rosa bows, Cloud's dark stuff which didn't help on Lakshmi and I got Terra's Awakening on the last draw, when you got it on the first. No wind chain, Rosa USB2 or Bartz Awakening for me either. And my luck's been really lousy since, only decent relics I gotten since then were Red USB2, Jack USB and Barrett USB, and I probably won't ever use those.

I really hope my luck changes for the better next fest if I'm gonna tackle Odin, I don't think I can get away with something like using Vaan to beat Mateus chainless. I only have 3 gen-2 chains and 1 awakening (I don't have a chain for) I'm eyeing Banner 4 for Noctis and Squall Awakenings which would go nicely with Laguna and Prompto chains against Odin... hopefully.

1/11 Warrior of Light USB(2?) - the one with the rank boost and exit damage thing, not the one I already had with the def boost and #of uses based damage boost.

2/11 Dupe Ingus USB and Garland BSB (the Squall junction style one)

Probably going to take OK USB3 and Galuf Old and Bold (QC3 LM) but I'll wait a few days to consider my options. I might go with Quistis's USB instead.

I did my selections, Galuf QC3 LMR and Quistis buff USB. I cut my VIII torment time from ~49 to ~38 by going with a no healer setup, but I feel like I should be able to cut that one more. My V team didn't actually get any better at all, it was already around ~38 and stayed the same which is a little surprising since I have Bartz Awakening - oh well.

Man did I realize how not great my FF X relics are outside of Tidus. Got through D240 torment, but scared to even touch the next one.

FF XV is better, though I had to select Iris's BSB from the AA select. Beat D240 Deadeye, and got 38 seconds on D280, with literally only Prompto standing, ending it with a spark offering. Got enough rubies for sapphire bullet at least.

I got a rainbow on the daily today, Papalymo's en ice super, sadly a dupe (I thought it was a rod for a dark mage at first)

So many rainbow crystals... I wish they told use when the elemental artifacts are coming on the MVP letter.

Helpful for the torment at least, but doesnt look like Im getting Orlandu AASB, since my other draw was just Ovelia glint. Just gonna save until fest now, and try to finish 4* magicite.

Even with Bartz Awakening, this wasn't exactly an easy sub-30 win.
I wanted to combine Bartz USB1 with his Awakening for the Quickcast and the extra chases, but I was too slow. So I gave Faris DMT and had her entrust Bartz early so he could combo both SBs.

I still had several runs that got the kill just slightly after the 30 second mark (one at 30:01), until I decided to blow some motes on Dorgann for that little extra damage and chain building. Probably not the smartest decision, but whatever; I still have 1425 Dex and 1999 Vit.

Only listing SBs and abilities I actually used:
Lenna USB1 - Curada, Protectga - no LMs - Ace Striker
Krile SSB1 & BUSB - cFiraja - LM1&LM2 - Mako Might
Bartz USB1 & Awakening - Inferno Assault - LMR1&LM2 - Weakness damage
Dorgann SSB - Healing Smite & Banishing Strike - LM1&LM2 - Thunder God's Might
Faris - BSB2 - Fire Assault, Entrust -LM2&LMR1 - DMT

I mean it more in the sense that I dived a character whose best relic is a SSB. I think I could have won without the dive, if I had been more willing to fish for good doublecast rng on Bartz. If I look at the screenshot, I see that Bartz would have managed his final attack before the 30 second mark. That's 200k damage right there, which I doubt Dorgann's dive contributed.

Physical 5* motes are so overabundant these days it's not a big loss if you legend dive someone for Torment, especially for a Sub 30 D??? Dorgann has dualcast Knight LM2 so it's not even a bad loss and he's still pretty decent if you can get his BSB or USB.

Full Throttle draw tonight! Kinda itchin' on who to pick between FF1 and FFT. Getting WoL's AOSB would definitely make the last phase of Deathgaze more manageable, but I already have Sarah's USB, and I feel Ramza's stuff is a better investment since he's a more popular character, and it would help in FFT torment (too bad the game doesn't want to give me his chain...)

Also hopefully Chain Bizzaja and Lunar Dragon abilities will be added to the Ruby shop!

Yeah, I've been putting that one off too. At first I wanted to see what I needed the most, but I long ago passed into the point where none of them were actually useful. I think I'm just going to grab Cecil for favoritism.

Putting it off served me well enough. I originally had it between I, III, VII, XI, XII, XIII, and XV. Various draws obsoleting/duping items ruled out most of those until it was down to XV vs XI (or XIII for favoritism).

Went with XV because my healing situation there is more dire (I have Lilisette who can actually serve as a decent healing supplement with her breaks and healing chase so I probably don't even need Aphmau's Burst and can get by with Curadas)

Got an Ark clear. My holy chain bearer is Ramza, so I tried a physical team, and after that didn't work out I brought mixed physical/magic (Orlandu's doublecast USB, Arc's chase USB, Ramza with CSB, Onion mUSB, Rosa USB2). I also snagged a Rosa SSB with Magic Blink, from the Acolyte Archives that I've been ignoring forever, to deal with Ark's Savage Doomsday.

Hopefully a Lv99 Ark will make a difference against Lakshmi, and then... ugh... then I have to go back to Syldra and hope the Madeens I've accumulated will make a difference.

Terra Awakening (+almost everything else)

I don't have Syldra, so at best I have 15 seconds of Savage breaking if I run Terra. Maybe the NE on her OSB could break Savage mode too, but I kinda dout it.

You pretty much need Syldra in this fight to break Adamantoise's savage at least once, either early in the fight or in the last phase (or both if the fight is dragging out) or you'll need Ultimecia's brave or her OSB (or Fujin's) to beat Adamantoise's Syldraless. Even with Terra's awakening she needs like 60+ hits on Zack's chain to break savage mode. He's also going to stall those precious 15 seconds away with haste removals and savage adamant guard.

Ability Double is not a good idea for this fight because you'll just run out of hones really fast without Alph chain to boost the damage to make it worthwhile (especially with Maria since she has no doublecast LM) USBs with chases like Barbarbiica and OK USB3 are more important since they build chain for less hones. Especially Barb since she can build chain with attack when Toise is bulked up for two turns that the damage is going to be poor anyway or when she runs out.

I forgot I also have Fujin's USB, which does a chase, but it's kinda awful. No stat buff and the chase only happens every 2 attacks.

A legit Syldra clear isn't happening anytime soon, without a chain or Imperil SB. I'd have to do 4 Radiant Shield clears, which I d'really rather not.

I guess. Fran will get buffed to Machinist 6* too, and if I pick her USB with lenses, that might get the job done. I think ice is the second one of these (after lightning), so it's at least closer than some others.

There's also the small chance that I'll pull an ice chain from RoP or elemtal banners.

Guess Dr Mog is feeling generous because I also got a 6* on the daily draw - Meliadoul's USB. It's my first non-dupe 6* in about six months. Also 6* earth armor which is nice. I'm not sure if she'd actually make my physical earth team since I'm pretty stacked there - Bartz with BSB/AASB and Galuf with chain are both automatic, then she's fighting with Cinque (USB), Dorgann (USB), Edge (Eblan Doppelganger + ninja abilities), and even Guy is arguably a better imperiler since he has an enEarth USB.

Fun fact I use Guy in my Earth Physical team and never use his USB. Just keep spamming his Burst entry to keep imperil stacks up. Granted if I actually invested in earth Monk rather than using him as a heavy that might be different but...

Anyone else having trouble with the Dreams d350? My XIII characters are pretty crap outside of Lightning and Raines (who have zero synergy with each other).

That boss was annoying, but not too bad as long as you counter his buffs with the breaks (which is why it's so annoying you have to use up so many slots for that and dispel!)

I beat him with Lightning, Raines, Elara, Hope and Sazh. Lightning did piss poor damage however even with USB1 + 2, maybe I should have glinted instead.

We need a new topic! We should call it oodles of Odins or something since Dark Odin is coming and the next fest has something similar to the Golden Week event where you fought several incarnations of Bahamat (I'd make it but my username stretches the screen for some people.)
