Madeen's the easier of the two though and most most importantly the slower in savage mode. Lakshmi also has more damage reduction in savage mode (and her savage is based on health, not turns like the other magicite) and she also removes haste, and status effects if you dawdle too long.

But like I said before, Sice just an option, I'm probably going to Tyro or OK for my boostga when I fight her.

I get around that with Elara's BSB with a last stand. Madeen's pretty much just a holy mixture of Belias/King Behemoth except you need to dispel her instead of attack breakdown.

Besides 1 8000 attack is a lot better than dealing with 100% auto-hit sleep/confuse.

i don't have Elarra's BSB. i guess i could use Vanille or maybe even Relm?

though against Lakshimi i have Golbez chain + Ignis BSB on Seph with USB2 + LMR. as good as my dark magic DPS is, i don't think it's quite as good as that.

If you have Vanille USB2 that would probably work, since it also has a holy damage reduction.

One thing that makes Madeen easier is that you can take your time with her for the most part (unless you're dooming yourself) I beat her with a semi-poverty team of Seymour (USB) Raines (BSB(also have his OSB but it's not really worth breaking savage mode IMO) Garland (Chain) OK, and Elara.

Lakshmi isn't a boss you want to stall though, the longer you stay in a phase the more status effects, haste removals and nul-darks you have to deal with. The best defense against her is a strong offense in all honesty (or Tyro USB1 spam)

I just feel like I'm that weird spot where I may have the tools to kill her quick (I have Cloud and Riku's USBs and AOSBs) but Garland's weaker chain + no dualcast LM and no awakenings is probably going to hold me back from killing her before the doom timer kills everyone, which is probably why I'm leaning towards Tyro as the support.

I'm not sure I consider it stalling per se as much as condensing your damage. You play the fight normally but just don't party doom until you've built a bit of bar with everyone and gotten start of fight buffing out of the way so you get a bit of jump start on the pace of your damage flow. Like, you can fire the party doom at about 10s in and you're now playing with a sub 40 instead of a sub 30. To put it in perspective I only ever see Madeen's aoe Dispel on turn 11 of her first phase if I screwed up on timings and got really unlucky with imperils/dual casts, and that's casting CoD's doom break at more like 15s than 10s and considering that Madeen has a 0.01s attack so it's basically hitting at turn 10 thinking in terms of Lakshmi. Now Lakshmi you basically want to get out before turn 9 rather than 10, but yeah, it really shouldn't be impossible to do that even showing a little restraint on your party doom. Particularly since she helps you and puts doom on two of your guys for you.

You have multiple slots so in theory you can potentially have an acceptable alternative move to use before you need to exploit having doom. Like... put damage RMs on Cloud and Riku, launch the aoe doom + Garland Chain just before they fire off their USBs, and it'd probably be workable. *Shrug

Something to keep in mind for Lakshmi, is that she dooms slot 1 and 5 for you. You can use Reaping Scythe in these slots without the need to run a party doom, or a 4* self-doom.

I run Seph (USB2+AOSB) with Crimson Cross (to proc trance quickly) and Reaping Scythe in Slot 1.

FWIW I've found it's perfectly safe to run Sanguine Cross against Lakshmi... for the most part her damage is peanuts, you just need to be ready for Poltergeist (or block it with Eblan Doppelganger). And since Seph has cap break it might actually matter.

100 gemmed Kefka Ultra. Neat.

Probably the coolest Ultra I'm not sure I can really use anywhere. Maybe I can make a decent FFVI dark team with that + Shadow Ultra but yeah I dunno. Seems like that would be weaker than the Edgar + Sabin connection. I don't think Kefka fits on my Dark Magicite team either as he's probably inferior to Mage Dark Cecil in terms of damage and kinda need Vayne's quick casts + overflows and CoD's party doom (and Golbez's chain, obviously)

6* dark boosting armor at worst I guess.

Man, the difficulty jump in this game is no joke. I finally beat Hades and got to 5* fights. So my first thought was, "Okay. My water team beat Maliris on 25.85. Let me take on Phoenix as that is the physical 5*. I was dead in the first 10 seconds. It may be another year before I can beat some of these guys. My other team that faired well against 4* magicite is Ice and it is my understanding that Slydra is the most difficult thing in the game thus far.

If it makes you feel a bit better if you can survive Phoenix for 10 seconds you have a good chance of winning. That fight is all about staying alive and the opener is arguably the toughest part to piece together. I mean it keeps up the whole fight but I would say the damage is relatively constant.

Don't forget to complete any 4th Anniversary content now, it goes away in 4.5 hours.

Apparently the realm banner renewal comes in a week. But I'm not sold at all on doing all these again. Damage USBs are so outclassed by Awakenings now, and a lot of the ones that do complement awakenings can be picked up in the Anima Lens shop. I think you probably get more value saving for the next fest banners which have way better grand prizes, better chances of a 6*, and give Anima Lenses for dupes. I might pull on a couple realms where I'm really weak or have grand prizes I really need (Edward CSB)

Don't underestimate breaks. I brought Setzer to beat God Kefka and those counter Ultimas were a lot more manageable.

I kinda wanted to do super Omega/Shinryu for the Arcana but it was just a bit too annoying. I got close a couple of times with my Phoenix team but yeah I dunno I really don't like these Crystal Chronicle RW gimmick bosses in general, even if this one is more straightforward than most. Maybe in the future.

I beat Kefka with awakening boosted Valis from Terra so I didn't have to worry about the counter ultimas.

I also got another rainbow on the daily, Yang's unique. At least it's my first soul break for him I suppose.

Still haven't done my USB/LM select, just when I decided that I should probably get Aerith's USB2 and dualcast LM the MVP letter reveals an upcoming lucky draw that has her USB2 on it...

i beat Kefka with my Hecaton team, just with Tyro instead of Ignis and other minor changes. blasted through that last phase doing about 200k each on Cloud and Bartz. Faris USB even has breakdown to go with imperil so i could have survived an extra ultima or two if needed.

didn't do the last Omega/Shinryu, hell i only did the 220 of that a couple hours before it closed and i still had 35 fest tickets to spend at that point, so no time. also it looked pretty terrible from skimming the FFRK board.

Honestly the biggest problem with Omega/Shinryu was the health bar is so damn long and for the most part they're not actually dangerous except out of short bursts.

1/11 Rinoa Chain. My Squall is strong, I have Selphie's BSB/USB, and I recently got a couple of Laguna relics so my ice just improved a little bit and I can probably do a couple levels of FF8 torment now that I think about it. I'll take it.

I'm a huge fan of Blade/Spell Ward.
I'm not sure it's worth doing double-wards on 4* magicites, but at the 5* level, double wards give 12% resistance.

They are a great way to mitigate bosses who use a wide range of elements, and one of the only ways to mitigate non-elemental damage (especially piercing), unless you bring breakdowns (often a major waste in endgame content)

Might be worth it on 5* magicite, but I wouldn't spend more time than necessary farming 4* magicite unless you're really stuck.

Most of the time I just use one Famfrit that has blade ward 8 and HP boon 8 inherited on top of native spell ward 8. Then I pick my other magicite based on what element boon/resist I need, and I only have a second ward if one of my other magicite happens to have it.

I think double wards is a waste of energy on ward 5. Too much diminishing returns. You should go for the one copy of each but not strain yourself for more.

Ward 8 it's good to stack 2 if you can though.

For 4* Magicite here was my general deck ideal deck design, since you seem to have a lot of questions about it.

Offense element guy + empower
Offense element guy + whatever
Defense element guy + dampen
2 Evrae. With whatever

So the ideal here is you use the 'whatevers' to get you one of each of the following: HP Boon, Spell Ward, Blade Ward, and Fast Act in that order of priority. Or Precise Strikes in that 4th slot over Fast Act in physical decks may be better than fast act in many situations, but that depends on your crit fixing situation (I never had crit fix so those precise strikes were more important)

You may also run two dampen types in place of one of the Evraes/offense element guys for guys like Tiamat that have two dangerous elements

Before you get Evrae use something random with a good second ability that gives attack or magic boon. I had Isgebinds most of the time for Precise Strikes.

I also wouldn't stress about fully loading magicite decks before moving on. You don't need fully inherited decks to advance. Rushing to Light Magicite for Evrae will save you some headache in the long run.

Squall's, I have his en ice LMR and his USB2, so if I sandwich the glint between them it should max the infusion and buff his chases on Syldra.

Plus it's ice boosting armor so I can combine the two Snow BSB coats.

Also picked Aerith USB2/LM for the selection. Even though it's on the upcoming Lucky Draw it's better safe than sorry (watch me dupe it now...)

no, ability double does not stack with AASBs. though AASBs with different types of dualcast will let you triplecast if you have an ability that matches both types. so for example, combining Sora and Bartz AASB won't work because they're both dualcast spellblade. but Axel + Sora or Axel + Bartz will triplecast fire spellblades. also, because the effect of AASBs is to increase damage cap by 1 level, not set it to a certain level, the damage cap will be 29999.

I just kinda hoped that Terra would triplecast chain fiaja so that I'd skip the unseen strike by DPSing into the next phase, though even if I did get sleep'd I'd have Relm smack Strago to wake him up (as it should be) and I don't really need Mog in the fight after he does his dances and moogle justice so he can nap, it didn't really matter if he was awake or not.

It did take a bit of luck to get that sub30 with dualcasts from Strago and Terra, thankfully the damage from this boss is really low (probably thanks to Hecatoncheir) I didn't even use Relm's USB for healing primarily, I used it more to make soul breaks instant.

Setup was
Mog Multi Break/Crushing Tango- BSB (no legend dive, had to equip gigas armlet on him so he could survive)
Terra Vali/Chain Fiaja -Awakening/AOSB (both USBs but never needed them)
Locke Mug Bloodlust/Fire Assault -USB1/2, OSB/AOSB (I used the imperil one so Terra could cap 19999)
Relm Memento of Prayer/Curaga -USB1/BSB/Unique (only used USB1)
Strago Lunar Leviathan/ Chain Wataja- SSB/Chain/OSB/BSB (started with the super, then BSB for infusion)

Got my four Belias

It wasn't super painful. I mean all clears were above 1 minute so it kinda sucked but it only took like 6 tries to get 3 more? Moving Vivi to the bottom slot helped

Also Vivi's jump rope USB proved to be very important in that clear working, which amuses me.
