It can be either positive or negative.

Now, a 'positive' example of domestic violence wouldn't be the violence itself necessarily, but the outcome such as character growth

Or it could just be your The Sims punching eat other 'cuz WTF why not

I can tell by the way Tidus yells I hate you that he's actually saying I love you, excellent piece of voice acting to get that across.

If you play through the game you find out while he's still ultra paranoid and prone to outbursts, he's also willing to risk his life to protect people as well, as he's repeatedly killed trying to save Max as she rewinds time to try to give him the opening to save her.

Basically you're playing at this woman who is trying to overcome some kind of mental disorder, and revisiting your past in your head, and dealing with your brothers rape and suicide.

I dunno what that genre is called

You dont see it happen but the boss in mgs 3 mentions killing her lover because she was given a mission to.

Well, it's supposedly a zombie apocalypse game, but I have no idea why either... we don't even know what the content of the game is, if it's shock/exploitation or if it's just poorly named.

Also the live action film "Q" directed by Takashi Miike, in fact you would probably enjoy the hell out of that movie.

Elfen Lied is hella-good, it was also pretty much my first 'gore-splosion' anime... a genre I kind miss.

I'm not particularly "in" to domestic violence, it's just that I thought it seemed like it was missing from video games as a narrative device.

It's incredibly common in TV and movies.

Also, really liked Detroit: Become Human... I felt like that game should have been done ever so slightly different though, to make it more compatible as an "anthology" game so that we can get countless new chapters in side-content as stand-alones

The only Castlevania game I played immediately had a scene where you had to rip a girl away from her mother and kill them both.

That was a wtf moment for me. I stopped playing there.

Thanks game, I now know what being a serial killer is like. Not really my fantasy there. I actually turned off the game because I didn't want to do that.

I don't want to roleplay some edgy snuff fantasy. At that point I hated the main character, was annoyed by the fact that he was supposed to be a badass, I didn't want him to succeed in any way, and the best way for me to win the game would be to turn it off.

That's like saying I'm a sissy because I don't like seeing Duke Nukem's dick sucked.
