Maybe its just not for you

Seasons 3-5 are really the show at its best though imo

sitting through TWO seasons to get to the good part seems kinda crazy. How did the show make it for the long to get good?

Season 1 is only like 6 episodes, so it's more like a season and a quarter. That's not unreasonable for a show to pick up, assuming Season 2 is all that bad to begin with (I disagree).

Season 2 is actually one of the best (if not THE best) season.

Honestly I was hooked within the first five minutes of the first episode though. \_()_/

I don't get it either and the people that apparently do nothing but watch it non-stop on Netflix are annoying

For me, the biggest hurdle was Michael's "cringe because it's so uncomfortable" brand of humor

It eventually grew on me, but... I'll admit, it's hard to blame anyone for getting turned off of a show that's literally DESIGNED around that brand of humor

Season 1 is a bit slow and very awkward. The show is still trying to find itself. It doesnt truly find itself until the second half of season 2. Once season 3 starts, youll be hooked. If not, I guess its not for you. Dont blame the show though, as its insanely popular. I guess its just not the humor you like.

I had this problem at first too. I had this same problem the first time I watched Parks and Rec for some reason too. In both cases, had the some outcome as you as well. Also agree about not blaming anyone. In general I figure we all don't have to like the same things, tbh.

If it's not for you, it's not for you. I personally loved it. I tried the UK version as well but that one was absolutely unfunny IMO.

Season 1 is rough. It's not all that funny the first time through and Michael Scott seems more of an asshole than a funny guy. Season 2 really picks up though and I think Michael's character just gets better from there. If you're not a fan of face-palm/cringy humor, you may not like the show overall because most of the comedy comes from the antics of Michael Scott and everyone's reactions to his words and actions.

I would watch through season 1 and then some of season 2. If you don't like it by then, you're probably not going to enjoy the rest of the show.

Used to almost be standard practice for sitcoms, though. My favorite examples of this are Night Court and Seinfeld.

I honestly dont get the hate for season 1. Each episode is pretty great and we get to see the ultimate Michael cringe in Hot Girl (fuck Scotts Tots. Great episode but its unrealistic cringe but Hot Girl is very real lol).

Yeah this is pretty basic for almost every famous tv show, not just sitcom. In fact, its usually the ones that start out fantastically that end up fizzling out by the end (LOST for example). The best shows need time to grow.

Also, season 1 is only 6 episodes, thats hardly a trek

just skip to where Steve Carell got fired from the show.

the show is far, far superior without him.

It's cringe humour. Some people can't take it as it's meant to make you uncomfortable/their skin crawl at the awkward situations. The show is amazing from season 2-4, and then starts going downhill from season 5 onwards.

The UK version was too damn awkward for me, but I watched it all.

I just finished it today. I started with season 2 since I already seen most of season 1 in school, because it teaches ethics and such.

It was alright. it didn't get better and it didn't get worse.

I can't remember the British version that much, but I know it ended with dinosaurs and it was a hell a lot shorter.
