It's the opposite for me. I played very lightly when Dx2 first came out. I didn't get into the meta and just collected my dailies. Now that the player base has shrunk I've been kinda forced to play more seriously.

That aside, I finally have a chance at breaking into diamond rank. I still haven't even broken into gold, but I'm quite confident that'll change this season now that I've got some meta shit going.

Already managed to hold 1st for the Bayonetta event

Hopefully I have the resolve to keep it up for whatever's next.

I got Celes EX weapon today after 7 pulls.

Also got 2 Papa's Limo 35cps which is exactly what I needed to mlb it and 1 Wightslayer for Onion Knight so that one is 1 LB now.

Overall pretty good banner pulls.

Love of waifu is limitless.

That's just the realization of how shallow these games are setting in.

Gacha games are fun for a while, then they either become a boring grind, or you realize how scummy the gacha tactics are.

Pretty much log in to do dailies, train and gather batteries in girls frontline unless there's an event going on

That's basically why I play multiple simultaneously. Log in, dailies, log out.

If there's an event, do the event.

Play something else while waiting for new content.

I went back to look at the last few pages of the previous gacha topic and I didn't see him in there at all. It seems like he really only plays Girls' Frontline anyways, and I see him post in the dedicated GFL general a lot, so I'm not sure how much he would be in here.

Back when my phone was overloaded with like 8 or 9 games, on average like 3 or 4 of those were in that kind of 'standby' situation. But I've trimmed down since then and I'm only playing 5 right now, all of which I play fairly frequently:

Girls' Frontline
Revue Starlight ReLIVE
Release The Spyce: Secret Fragrance
BanG Dream Girls Band Party

Another Eden is basically a traditional turn-based JRPG (from the same writer as Chrono Trigger) but with an extra gacha element tacked on. You can go pretty far with just the story units, but you can also get more from the gacha to make things easier.

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=games.wfs.anothereden&hl=en

Precure Connection Puzzlun is a match-three puzzle game with a wide variety of characters from the Pretty Cure franchise to choose from. There's no PVP stuff, only the occasional event with leaderboards and rankings. It has a gacha element, but since you're only ever using one character in battle at a time, all you really need to get is one good character for each of the seven colors and you're able to clear pretty much anything. It's more enjoyable if you're already a Precure fan, but on the other hand, maybe playing the game could get someone into the anime franchise too.

Dissidia Opera Omnia is 99% single player.

There's co op missions but they're generally piss easy and you just tap on a random skill to win most of the time. All the actually challenging content is single player only.

I actually quit Opera Omnia because of the multiplayer. You have to play online to get some rewards, and tons of people are fucking morons <_<

So many people don't know that certain attacks can't break you, or that they deal BRV damage based on %, so they should just HP attack. And it's even more frustrating when they ignore HP attack stickers, or don't use any skills at all. But I didn't want to wander too deep into the realm of elitism, like those guys who wouldn't even take a player who wasn't maxed out or using the chosen character, so I just gave it up.

Plus my waifu Lightning is too fast for her own good, so I pretty much had to use Cecil online. I'm sure people don't like her getting like 3 turns before they can act...Granted it's funny beating bosses in like 3 turns with Valiant Blow spam, but I prefer waifu :<

Also I just don't like match 3. Don't know why, I just don't lol

Things have changed a lot since the last time you played. There's now two multiplayer modes and "For Fun" people will take almost anything I've brought lvl 50 characters into it. You can play someone like WoL or Aerith and it's very low stress. Fang is coming out in two days and she's like a mix between Lightning and Cecil.

No. Now you get tokens and you buy the rewards you want for tokens. If you want to speed it up you can use a 2x item book and get double tokens.

There's been some co-op missions that I've cleared 100% using a single round of 3 people's bells (take turns hosting 5 each)

Definitely, at least for Azur Lane. I put a bit more time into GF, mostly for token drops. Still, there's going to be so much kickass games coming out this year (Shenmue 3, Outer Worlds, TLOU2, Biomutant, Cyberpunk maybe, etc.), I don't really want to spend most of my time on gacha crap drip-feeding the story while releasing metric tons of fanservice.

It's one of the reasons I wouldn't bother playing any more gacha than these two. You just spread yourself so thin and end up half-assing some of the games, then quit playing altogether, wasting all that time.

I've tried telling myself this so many times, that I should just pick two or three of my games and go all-out in those rather than spreading my time out. But then I actually sit down and try to do that and can never decide which ones to go with... plus I know that for every gacha game I uninstall, I'll be tempted by two more that come later. At least I know not to spend any money on the random games I try out not knowing if I'll stick with them for a while.

Yep. Dragalia Lost is my only long term game at the moment and it's typically in "passive collective mode" aside from the first few days of a new event. #feelsbadman

I've been playing Skylanders Ring of Heroes for a few days now after taking a few hours to reroll. I'm already growing bored of the game, unfortunately. You hit a wall pretty fast with the difficulty, which then basically forces you to grind hard for character shards and new runes. They also make it a pain to level up units since lvl up potions are scarce and offer little xp when used.

I'll probably drop the game on Thursday when Brown Dust releases for Global. Then the wait begins for Valkyrie Anatomia.

I feel like I'm slowly getting there with Langrisser already, which is sad because the game isn't even that old yet.

Compared to FEH, Dx2, and King's Raid, Langrisser feels a lot more grindy and said grinding doesn't feel like it's making any real impact. I can play the other 3 for hours and can see where I've made progress, but with Langrisser it doesn't feel like I've budged at all, made worse by how there's so many things that need to be grinded out (soldier upgrades, class upgrades, equipment forging/enchanting, bonding upgrades). Even the way you gain rarity levels feels tedious.

Like, if I want to rarity up in FEH, I just need feathers, and everyone uses the same amount for the same levels. In Dx2, you just need spare demons, *any* demons, to get rarity up. King's Raid? Easily farmable mats that differ only *slightly* based on the character's class. Overall literally any hero/demon can be gotten to max rarity eventually, it's a matter of when and not if. (At worst FEH only keeps merges sort of "gated" with how it's not easy to get duplicates of certain heroes, but it's not like you need +10 heroes anyway.)

But for Langrisser, you need to collect specific character fragments, and those can only be gotten from summoning, and said summoning requires tickets that aren't easy to come by, and even when you *do* get those fragments, you're getting 5 at a time (10 if you're lucky) when someone might need a hundred to increase their star level. Oh, and each character is divided by SSR, SR, and R ranks so some character fragments are a bitch to collect at all.

Despite having played it the least amount of time compared to the others, Langrisser already feels like it's becoming a chore. Can't even use waifu-ism to keep me going because I know fuck all about Langrisser's cast, and if I just wanted to gawk at T&A, there's plenty to be found in the gacha I was already playing, especially King's Raid. Literally every female character, save one, I have in that game is running around in a swimsuit, and that's only because she doesn't have one yet. (She does have a maid costume though...)

Nintendo is asking cygames to adjust Dragalia Lost to make it so people spend less money.

We may see more guaranteed pulls and a pity system very soon.

@Leanaunfurled I'd strongly suggest not pulling on anything for the next few months until we see what changes.

https://www.wsj.com/amp/articles/nintendo-to-smartphone-gamers-dont-spend-too-much-on-us-11551864160

TOKYOSmartphone game makers working with Nintendo Co. are finding the home of Mario the plumber is putting up obstacles to scoring high revenue.

Since 2015, Nintendo has had revenue-sharing agreements for smartphone games that it creates with partners like DeNA Co. The games are free to download but players can pay for enhancements to speed up game play or enter in-game lotteries to win special characters.

In some cases, players can spend hundreds or even thousands of dollars trying to win special items. Fearing such behavior will damage Nintendos brand image, the company has asked its partners to adjust the games so that users wont spend too much, according to people familiar with Nintendos strategy.

Nintendo sees smartphone games primarily as a way to increase interest in its game characters so that players will consider buying traditional console games, the companys main business, according to one Nintendo official. The company is concerned it might be criticized for being greedy in smartphone games, the official said.

For the game makers, that can mean missing out on revenue.

CyberAgent Inc., which developed the role-playing smartphone game Dragalia Lost with Nintendo, slashed its fiscal-year earnings forecast for the first time in 17 years in January due in part to the games disappointing performance. While player numbers for the game have grown due to an aggressive advertising campaign, revenue from each player has fallen short of projections, the company said.

When the game was released in September, some users complained about the difficulty of winning rare characters during in-game lotteries, which might lead some people to spend more as they keep trying. CyberAgent officials say Nintendo asked the game maker to adjust the game to avoid excessive spending by users.

Nintendo is not interested in making a large amount of revenue from a single smartphone game, one CyberAgent official said. If we managed the game alone, we would have made a lot more.

A Nintendo spokesman acknowledged that the Kyoto-based company communicates with game makers about user payments.

We discuss various things, not just limited to payments, to deliver high-quality fun to consumers, he said.

At DeNA, which has created many games with Nintendo like Super Mario Run and Animal Crossing, the smartphone game business is in a slump. Chief Executive Isao Moriyasu said in February that most of the companys smartphone games are struggling except for Megido 72, a game it developed alone which has strong user revenue.

Investors praised Nintendo when the company entered the smartphone game market. But it has a modest goal for the business: 100 billion ($895 million) in annual revenue. Some top-ranked games, including Sony Corp.s Fate/Grand Order, generate more than that on their own. In the financial year through March last year, Nintendo earned 39.3 billion from smartphone games and other royalty income.

Last month, Nintendo said it is developing a puzzle game featuring its Mario character with Line Corp. , a major messaging app provider in Japan. Nintendo Chief Executive Shuntaro Furukawa said it would be open to collaborate with more outside developers to speed up smartphone game releases as it aims to reach its 100 billion goal by increasing player numbers.
