Ys: By the power of GameFAQs, I retrieved the treasure key, silver harp, and necklace, with power ring, shield ring, emerald ring, and (after a couple tries) the first Book of Ys following soon after! Also detoured to the mines and I THINK I explored it fully but we saw how wrong I was about that with the Shrine. That and it had a floor number and I never found stairs >_>

I have returned from a high quality vacation :D

So a week or two ago I picked up Mythic, a freeform tabletop RPG that is set up so you can play without a GM if you want to. I'mma start a shameless isekai adventure where I get sucked into various other worlds and Gary Stu it up. They may or may not be existing IPs (I did a preview last night and it looks like Umineko is first up) and who knows, Mythic is such that it could just decide to derail even the very minor outline I have in my head. If that's of interest to anybody I can post updates, if not no big.

Went looking for what Tom saw. Sanderson said in an AMA in October that Eshonai is the flashbacks. So yeah that seems to be the case.

Guess we are going to learn some more about that race and probably get to see her death. Maybe some stuff from her little soul spren to?

Oathbringer: This theme of fitting in or not is resonating with me. And dang, Odium is shaping up to be a pretty cool big bad. Got a kinda jedi/sith thing going. ...I'm amused by how big a jerk Smart!Teravangion is. I will probably be less amused at some point in the future when the Diagram accomplishes something.

LPMGS4 5: They figured out a way to make escort missions fun: escorting a dang tank that can provide mobile cover for you and takes out most of the dudes itself. ....Well heck, that sure is an entrance!

ARIA 1-11- Those Orange Days...: Hey, we've got all three Great Water Fairies in the same spot! Time for flashbacks I guess. They all...pretty much were immature versions of themselves, with shades of their future proteges. Good. There's an otherwise nice scene of Athena singing but boy did they make some interesting choices animating her. Also a nice message about not getting so wrapped up in nostalgia (or worry about the future) that you can't enjoy the present. That is something I need to hear every once in a while!

Oathbringer: The reader did a bangup job with Allokar's Brightlady voice.

Pokemon: Took on the Mahogany gym. Got through it, but boy the stall Dugongs got old real fast. Based on the badge screen, it appears I skipped two, and that would explain why I felt a bit underleveled, but I have no idea where to get Jasmine's medicine, or where the fifth guy even is. >_> And the only thing I know I haven't done is go play with my new Whirlpool.

I have been replaying Kingdom Hearts II or the last few days, and I'm now at the end of Twilight Town. I'm doing a limited Reaction Command Run, which prohibits their use with the exception of when it is required by the game to use them.

Kingdom Hearts II [Limited Reaction Command Run, PS2 Proud Mode]:
The only boss so far that gave me some trouble was the game's first one, Twilight Thorn. Without Reaction Commands, the boss has a much more limited window of when you can land hits on it, plus there's a few hits that become unavoidable right at the start of the battle.

The next two bosses were much more standard fair. Axel I has no reaction commands, so, naturally, nothing changes there, and then Axel II isn't all that difficult either. It's just landing a hit at the end of the battle becomes a small window of opportunity since his pacing increases the closer his HP gets to zero.

As for the normal enemies, even when not using Reaction Commands, the attacks are so basic at this point, there's nothing yet to worry about.

Oathbringer: Man, they really ramped the tragic backstory up to 11 there! Also, more Wit, yay.

EqG Spring Breakdown: I felt bad for Rainbow Dash and her genre savvy :( Was a pretty solid special, though! I particularly appreciated the 20% cooler callback, and Dash had a pretty quality smug face around there too.

Ys: Well heck, somebody murdered the fortuneteller lady :\ I get a second book out of it at least? Found a way deeper into the mines- dunno if it was there before or not, but with freshly upgraded equipment (including Heal Ring, which is a big ol' quality of life buff) the monsters weren't too bad. Got a Darm Key, and now I THINK I have finished the Mine (....again), but now I don't know what to do next. Also have a piece of paper. Sure is a lot of unreadable foreign script in this game!

Oathbringer: Sanderson did a really good job giving all of these minor characters JUST enough focus that we would care when they died. Venly faceturn coming in about .75 books, I reckon.

8-bit: GLORIOUS CHAINSAW METHOD. Also BM and Drizz'l switched :o Should be a fun shakeup.

Pokemon: Jasmine was not hard at all, but she's still best Johto girl after all these years. I appreciate that the game reminded me that the Radio Tower was in Goldenrod because heck if I remember that far back >_>

Trails: Casinos rank only slightly above fishing in my ranking of minigame tropes, but this one actually seems pretty tolerable. I think I'm gonna see if I can snag that +RNG accessory before I leave. I seem to be able to do maybe a hair above even on poker and blackjack?

How does the audiobook handle Adolin's screaming spren? I assume it just says she is screaming?

Oathbringer: I don't remember anything particularly special about the screaming spren, which is odd because I feel like they are usually super committed to faithfulness. Also dumb question but "Nale" = Nim = "Nail" from Edgedancer, right? Every once in a while they will change pronunciations between books and I think this is one of 'em. >_> The good news is that helps me narrow down spelling options!

Pokemon: Bit further in the radio tower; not a ton to report.

Ys: By the powers of Gamefaqs, I found a bunch of important stuff I missed. >_> Got Reah her stuff back, got the silver sword and shield, got max level (oh geeze how am I supposed to grind away my problems now), and got killed in about five seconds by a boss that turns into bats.
