Sites that give us the straight story, with little bias, and that don't report on stupid shit like celebrities. And I want relevant news...stuff that I should actually care about.

what's funny?

1. The idea this pic was made without bias
2. The idea even if done without bias that there is a good metric to use to come up with this
3. The idea that an organization of people, who would be reported by these very news sites as inherently biased and unconciously biased, is not being biased.

That being said, the ones in the middle are not bad, but don't rely on them alone.

Well, I thank them for going through such lengths.

Too many sheep out there.

Feel free to point out the incorrect parts, it looks good for the most part.

it doesn't claim anything to be without bias. it only claims minimal party bias or balance of bias. and it is usually pretty easy to tell political party bias, so that's your metric right there.

but whatever, it was the first thing that came up when i googled "news bias diagram".

First off having "hyper-partisan" as a descriptor isn't helpful, in that partisanship and ideological bias are very different things
- Libertarian outlet Reason being listed as more "partisan" than the National Review or Washington Times is laughable
- Similarly, on the left, Jacobin, an openly socialist magazine, is in the same spot on the X axis as MSNBC, the Atlantic, and Vox

Then there's the way it doesn't account for size or reach; Fox, Breitbart, and the other outlets in the bottom-right corner dwarf the no-name outlets in the bottom left in terms of readership, but they include those small outlets so as to "balance" the image visually.

Lastly, labeling the centrist (for the US) outlets as "neutral" is a way of hiding that that is a very real bias all its own.

It's like they set out to create a neat symmetrical arch and filled in outlets accordingly, rather than trying to provide an accurate picture of the media landscape.
