And I had assumed we were talking a major league caliber player.

If Im some triple A lifer taking a bus between Louisville, Norfolk, and Scranton, Ill take the lawyering gig. I would specialize in bird law.

This is pretty random lol. Also, it depends. Am I a successful attorney? Am I in the MLB? Am I minimum salary in the MLB or superstar multi million dollar contract level?

Neither sound appealing. While sports requires no real work or effort, both of them demand you deal with lots of stupid people.

Was never the biggest fan of playing baseball but it definitely sounds more fun than being an attorney. It would ultimately depend on the pay though.

It depends on skill level and how long you play, assuming this is MLB.

A person can easily be an attorney for 30-40+ years, whereas a baseball player might hit 20 years if lucky. the average life span of an MLB players is probably around 3-5 years because if you are unremarkable(most players are) you're going to get cut and then nobody is going to care to sign you.

I dont know how much an attorney makes but the MLB minimum salary is 535K a year.

Baloney. They throw/kick/hit a little ball for a few hours. I can do that too. It's not worth what they earn to drive up cable prices.

If I pick baseball, can I just be a bench-warmer?
argonautweakend
01/09/19 10:49:34 PM

There are no benchwarmers per say in baseball. Well not in the literal sense of never playjng. If you arent contributing youre sent down to the minors(where the pay is terrible) for somebody who will.

You might not play much but you arent gonna never play and be on an mlb roster

well thats not true either

It really is though. Bodybuilding, combat sports, people who climb Mount Everest, etc. All that stuff requires immense physical effort and mental discipline. You're exercise routine and diet are extremely strict for most professional sports and there is rarely room for cheating
