Well I don't know the other two but Zer0 is hardly a pure sniper. He'd basically be Nova "dude who does things and can also snipe." Which I'd imagine pretty much every high upkeep Sniper becomes.

If you want an example of a dude who has a really good sniper rifle but is just "a dude" it'd probably be like... some rando from Halo like Avery Johnson with a Covenant Sniper rifle is probably your best bet. And I couldn't see him upkeeping at more than a 4.

Yeah, I think you're right. It's reallllly hard to go much higher than Widow's level with just sniping. 5s and up need their kits to be more rounded than that by necessity. Doesn't mean they can't have a sniping focus, but it won't be the only thing they do.

A lot of that has to do with the fact 6/week dudes parry minigun fire. "This single shot will do what hundreds of simultaneous rounds couldn't" is personally a hard sell because it feels like it requires incompetence on the part of her targets to work if they know she's there, if that makes any sense? I feel against people who cant just walk through gunfire she'd demolish but she'd lose to the mgs1 cyborg ninja for ex.

Yeah, Quiet's problem was that she had a standard sniper rifle in a tier where most of the mercs can either no sell or easily dodge gunfire. She's just in an awkward spot where she's too good for the lower tiers but she can't hang in high tier.

The thing I was saying with Ana though is that she's a sniper whose got combat cred, sure, but more importantly can heal via sniping, which sets her apart from like every other healer mage type merc. I don't think we have anyone else that can heal their teammates from that far away. It lets her stay out of danger while still healing her team, as opposed to other healers like Aerith who might get written off as battle fodder

ok so for anyone who doesn't know Overwatch

Ana is basically an expert military sniper with a specialized rifle that can both damage enemies or heal teammates (and in game does so interchangeably, so if you miss an enemy and hit a teammate, it heals them automatically). When it hits enemies, they're not normal bullets, but like a sort of poison that hurts them a set amount over the course of a few seconds. It also means anywhere the shot hits deals the same amount of damage.

She also has a sleep dart gun and a biotic grenade that will simultaneously heal any allies in the blast range AND damage enemies, plus it prevents enemies from being able to heal while it's in effect (somewhere around 5-10 seconds if I remember right?)

Also Nano Boost ultimate, which superheals an ally while giving them 50% power boost and 50% damage immunity

Risk takes longer but it also feels more justified in taking longer.

I've been thinking and I think I've found an ability to both spice up the game and accurately represent Kingdom Hearts. Please tell me what you think!

Nort (Pre-Battle, Limited Use -13) - Xehanort may nort a target heroic male mercenary from either team. The norted mercenary will be possessed by Xehanort, gaining silver hair and having -Xehanort added to the end of their name. At this point, they will have five possible targets for abilities. The mercenary will have multiple designations for abilities - their heartless, their nobody, their xehanort heartless, and their xehanort nobody. The heartless form will be considered to be the same as the original in all designations, but will have Otherworldly added to their classification. The nobody will be considered exactly the same, but will have their allignment changed to neutral. Xehanort forms will be considered villainous but will otherwise retain classifications. Any of these four versions of the mercenary may be rostered by Xehanorts merc leader, counting as a possession. Each version is identical to the other, except Xehanorts Nobody version of the merc, which will have the personality and abilities of Xemnas. More than one version of a norted mercenary cannot be rostered by either team, and all versions can be rostered interchangeably. If a norted mercenarys individual form would be rostered on two different teams at once, it will randomly be replaced with an unrostered copy. If this is not possible, it will be replaced with Pete, as he appears in Kingdom Hearts 2. A Xehanort Heartless or Xehanort Nobody mercenary may be rostered for a match in the future, posted during rosters (i.e. Roster Luigi-Xehanort for Week 13 Wartime), at which point they will become unrosterable until that Wartime, where they will be rostered and unable to be affected by abilities pertaining to that Wartime that are not Wartime Globals. Additionally, if any mercenary spawned from this ability with Xehanort in its name is targeted by a possession ability, including this one, they may create a memory copy of themselves, which may be rostered as an assist to a Xehanort Heartless or a Xehanort Nobody, but prevents the rostering of a Heartless or Nobody of the same mercenary on any team. The memory copy will be deleted if anyone attempts to roster the Nobody version, at which point Vector to the Heavens will play loudly over the terrain, and the Nobody will enter the battle in a berserked state. Additionally additionally, if a mercenary has had their memory copy deleted, they will gain access to a data copy. This data copy will allow a Xehanorts Nobody or Xehanorts Heartless that has been rostered in a future wartime to be rostered in the current wartime, still allowing them to be rostered in the future. This is considered a revival. If thirteen mercenaries with the name Xehanort are rostered in a single Wartime, Kingdom Hearts will open during the following Results. All mercenaries currently in the game will be considered to be targeted by the effects of Nort simultaneously, allowing Xehanorts merc leader to roster any one of their heartless, nobodies, Xehanorts Heartless, or Xehanorts Nobodies at any time. If this ability targets a mercenary named Sora, disregard all above effects and refer to the Ventus and Roxas models passives.

alternatively if you had a smaller player pool and each Week lasted like 2 weeks having to fight in all 3 teirs against someone in one week would be interesting. You get the same ap pool to use for all of them and your guys can only be used in one match, so you could bring a high teir down to pad your mid but you leave yourself open up top without a big hitter
