I mean, the show always made a point of saying/showing it as creepy so I always disregarded it since the characters themselves say it, but now I realize wait, Jeff was a 40 year old man making out with a (show-wise, not actress wise since she was already 26 at the time) 19 year old girl, and that age gap is pretty huge. He has like 15-20 years on Annie.

Hell even Jeff and Britta aren't really age appropriate. He has at least 10 years on Britta.

He's good looking which makes it ok of course but it's just one of those things that you don't really think about while watching the show's wacky paintball hijinx and chicken finger goodfellas.

That's probably why the show spotlighted the creepiness of it at every turn and it never went anywhere (unless they started legitimately dating after S3, I don't remember S4-5 apart from a couple good lines). Annie even admits towards the latter end of S3 that she's just infatuated with Jeff because he's pretty much the Everest of a woman wanting to turn a bastard into a good guy.

My favorites on the rewatch actually turned out to be Britta and Shirley. They're the nicest/most well meaning of that study group.

I don't know about that. Shirley was a poorly designed character, I felt like they didn't know what else to do with her.

he has a nice body, on the show at least, but his face isn't attractive.

It was clearly shown very creepy and even said in the show. Not sure what more you wanted besides someone stopping the entire episode to state it.

I'm serious. She's heavy handed in her Bible thumping and is used to counterpoint the idea that religion=morality, but the study group as I see it puts her on a more agreeable level than Jeff, Annie, Pierce, Troy or Abed. Most of the time she exhibited guilt or a willingness to change for her insensitive actions, versus someone like Jeff that would inevitably cycle back around to being an ass.

Like Chang, Britta was increasingly made into a mockery of a character. Regardless, if you look beyond the show telling you not to like her, her actions are most always trying to help the others, while they refuse/resist change, thus making her out to be bad or incorrect.

Yeah that never happened.

There was definitely a trend towards Abed and Annie, starting around second Paintball. Her moving in began to validate the ship, with main argument for probably being the VCR board game episode and the few bits at the end of S5. It was doomed to be dead in the water.

Just for the record, Jeff was approx 35 at the beginning of the series. Britta was 27, IIRC. Annie would have been 19. So by the time Jeff was 40, Annie would have been 24 or so.

No one cared because Alison Brie was hot as fuck & looked the same age as Britta anyway.
