Military Veterans have been by and large a REPUBLICAN Voting MAJORITY as they were a solid voting block in the November 6th elections...but now data shows that Republican Military Women are shifting AWAY from the GOP!!

Both current and former female service members were more likely to vote in the 2018 midterm elections for Democrats than Republicans, 60% to 36%

Men with military backgrounds voted Republicans by the same margin at 58 to 39.

A record number of female veterans, 4, were elected to the House, all as Democrats. 3 won in swing districts helping give the party control this week as Democrats will reclaim the House

Seen as a bastion of support for the GOP, the face of the US military is changing

Retired Lt. Cmdr. Michele Fitzpatrick paid attention the news coverage after being turned off by Trump's tweetstorms and attacks on critics such as the Late Republican war hero, John McCain

Fitzpatrick researched candidates on the issue and on election day, the member of the U.S Coast Guard Academy's Class of 1980, the first to include women, voted without hestitation: all DEMOCRAT

She said "I just don't think what's happening now is helpful. It's almost like watching kids and bullies on the playground instead of people actually doing something about helping this country survive and to thrive"

Women in the military are helping elect new Democratic lawmakers and spur discussion such as sexual harassment and women in combat roles

Democratic elect Chrissy Houlahan, a former Air Force captain said she was motivated to run after last year's Women's March and felt her election would serve as a repudiation of Trump.

55% of those who served in the military backed Republicans compared to 42% for Democrats as Trump frequently embraces the US military and veterans in his speeches.

35 y/o Laura Cavallaro considered herself a Republican after serving in the Marine Corps as she's never voted before and said Trump kept his promise of a booming economy and creating jobs but doesn't like what he's saying about people that could start another WAR.

She's an independent who's pro-gun but is also pro-gay rights
