Insofar as we're probably born with a desire to bond with our in-group and ignore the out-group, maybe. But then, what specifically constitutes those groups is largely taught, and race is certainly not a required criteria.

I wonder if that's because of exposure? Like, a baby typically has parents that looks like them, and spends most of it's time with people who look like them. I wonder how this would hold up with interracial adoption? You think a white baby adopted by a black family would still have these biases?

No, racism is systemically imbedded in society. It's not something that's "taught". Rather, laws were passed that advantages whites that then created racist ideas into general society when they weren't there. The children are indoctrinated into racist views long before they develop pretty much anything else given how quickly children absorb information.

its not so much that the people look like the baby, but that babies instinctively look at facial features and there are differences between races. so a white baby raised by a black family would see other white peoples faces and think them strange.
