All nations fall. How long until part or all of the United States falls?
Will it be civil or foreign?

The internal contradictions will cause the U.S. to fall. It could take decades or centuries but the fall has already started.

It may crumble at some point but not anytime in the near future. That kind of thing usually takes hundreds of years.

Not really. They can fall quite quickly depending on how strong the contradictions are at any given point.

Were already seeing the build up of decadence coupled with a gradual increase in strife. We arent headed in a good direction. Were raising perpetual teenagers instead of adults who feel entitled to comfort rather than more secure avenues to stability.

We have nukes, and are the only country to have used them. Right or wrong, push comes to shove we'll be fine.

That's just a consequence of increasing cost of living + wage stagnation (bear in mind that this has been happening for four decades) making it more difficult or impractical for people to move out.

Its a consequence of a lot of things, this being one of them. Our parents prepared us for the world they grew up in, not the one were in, and we (as a country) havent proved to be very adaptable

I mean, yes, of course parents were prepared for their world, not ours. But who would have been?

Thats what I mean about adaptability. At a certain point, the ethos changed from deferred to instant gratification, and it was around the age of the baby boomers. They pushed what worked for them onto their kids and pushed even further the idea that you could be whatever you wanted, and it didnt fit what happened to industry and the economy.

It took like 70 years for our first civil war.
