Hitler.

As horrific as Mengele's actions were, they at least had the positive effect of contributing to scientific knowledge about humans. The same can't be said for Hitler's overall plan.

That's pretty much the only thing that separates them IMO though - that one's actions had some degree of beneficial side effect.

Nope. I'm totally not the white ninja. You're confusing me with someone else.

No they didn't. This is completely false. Imagine believing pro-Nazi propaganda.

idk, Germany had been committing genocides before Hitler, and those in charge helped were like his mentors, iirc, plus the eugenics movement was pretty big

The Holocaust alone is far worse than everything Mengele did.

Plus Mengele was in Hitler payroll.

Hitler didn't do the Holocaust himself.

That is a bit like saying which gives you worse explosive diarrhea.

That said, Mengele. Hiter had a grand idea that was horrific, but he didn't hammer the details out. Mengele meanwhile, was the one doing twisted experiments of dubious scientific value, trying to turn Jews into Aryans or something.

No.

Yeah, Mengele's experiments were of no scientific value whatsoever. Nazi science did provide things to the medical community (Sulfa drugs, a lot of early data on hypothermia), but none of that was by Mengele. He was a remorseless sociopath interested in messing with things just to watch the results.

I believe Mengele was hypothermia though. The only thing that can be attributed to him.

I think it was someone else actually. Apparently they were interested in if someone could die of hypothermia and be resuscitated, to the extent Himmler personally ordered that if it was ever successful, the revived person should be "pardoned" to a concentration camp for life.

hitler, he was an asshole. mengele was apparently very friendly, even to the people in the camps. i mean, he horribly butchered them, but he was very friendly before hand!

Nazi scientists actually contributed very little in health and biology fields, mainly because they were working under the operating structure of extreme eugenics. Mengele in particular was personally obsessed with twins and people with deformities and all of his findings were inconclusive wastes of time that butchered the test subjects and had nothing to show for it.

Japanese had more 'research' on this kind of thing during WW2 than Mengele

Sadly, nobody cares about what the Japanese did despite their empire being the most evil in history.
