Regardless of how much or little shopping you do for Christmas, when do you usually start it? Do you do it throughout the year while keeping an eye out for sales or wait till the very end and you're stuck scrambling through delayed online orders or filled parking lots of angry shoppers.

Personally I tend to start around end of November/start of December and try to have whatever gifts I'm giving by two weeks from Christmas. I try to avoid going to the mall like a plague within a week or Christmas but only do so to pick up some cookies that I give out every year for work.

So what's your usual approach when shopping for gifts?

Comments are appreciated,

Thank you

It would be in December but for the past few years I've gave up gift giving and just stick money in a card. I don't see my sister and her family all that much anymore, my bro doesn't give a shit and neither does my dad so eh. All Christmas is about for me is good food and alcohol being as I have no other commitments.

Typically in November. Most of it now is just gift cards that I finish up around mid December.

Just realized "Within one week" and "Within days" are essentially the same. The latter shoulda been "On Christmas Eve"

Typically I take a ton of vacation in December (use it or loose it essentially) so I just do my shopping the say that starts, since it is usually a weekday and the stores aren't that busy. This year however I don't have to get anybody a present, so I am looking forward to not having to deal with it. I'll probably just walk around a few places trying to catch Pokemon in Go so I can transfer them to Let's Go.

I 'start' it about 3 weeks before Christmas (as in I buy like 1 gift at the time) then do nothing for weeks and buy the rest 2 days before Christmas.

No real schedule. Sometimes it's within an week or two of Christmas. This year I actually had the first gift the first week of November. Slowly picking up the rest along the way. Last item arrived this afternoon. So I am done.

Normally I procrastinate. This year I was on fire. I bought most of them around September, and the others I was waiting to find the right gift. Just finished end of November.

Depends on when I get the money for it. I usually start thinking about it in November and usually can gather enough. This year was awesome since we had some old car batteries that needed recycling.
