How is the guy a native French? At most he's a second-generation immigrant. Just because he's born in France does not make him French (no matter what his passport says). Just like if the child of two Bulgarians is born in Japan, he won't suddenly be Japanese instead of Bulgarian.

Let's take the Bulgarian child born in Japan for example. If that child married a full-blooded Japanese, and then their child (the protagonist couple's grandchild) married a full-blooded Japanese, only then would we get a to-a-large-extent Japanese child (the couple's grand-grandchild).

also i am not trying to engage in drive by shitposting so i will kinda outline some of my perspective.

i am pretty liberal for american politics but my positions arent necessarily stock liberal positions. i do think the immigration issue in europe has gone too far. while i think the states should accept more refugee types i do think it is important to properly vet people (much like we do in the states, one thing we do better than europe). i think the eu needs to come up with a more tenable plan and something to balance between no immigrants and anyone can immigrate.

also i am definitely pro gun rights and dont believe (as most american liberals dont) in the abolition of the 2nd. i think there should be a few more precautionary laws like mandatory wait periods (maybe a week or 5 days) and stronger background checks but i generally oppose restrictive gun laws like banning certain cosmetics or types of rifles.

also i am willing to answer any other questions, i just thought it would only be reasonable to explain a couple of my basic positions

the bbc generally gets very high scores on objectivity there seems to be very little evidence of inaccurate reporting, at least in the international news part. idk about the german state news, i am ignorant of that one. the american sources are often shitty, especially cnn, but they do at least fire people that are proven to be spreading falsehoods and offer retractions. nyt is generally solid.

my mistake, i didnt know where you were from as alt right is indeed an american phenomenon although it can be applied to people in other places, just not directly.

Well, you're already more to the right than my usual detractors here. What do you think makes a nation? What do you think of the Japanese model (of society)? What do you think about the established nationalists of Europe like Putin and Orbn, and the rising stars such as Salvini? Do you think the Yellow Vests will topple Macron? Do you think the EU, as it stands today, has a future? What do you think of Trump?

a nation is just a collective of people under a general government of some kind. usually a society that shares many basic values and has some kind of collective identity.

japan is a complicated place (like every country). i think the contribution the japanese have made culturally and technologically to the world is great but i also think the emphasis they put on work is generally harmful. overall there is a lot to admire about japan but there is a lot they can improve, not different from anywhere else but they do have unique problems like extremely high suicide rates and low birth rates with one of the oldest populations. overall though i think the japanese have contributed greatly to the world and there is a lot to admire there.

idk much about salvini but i think putin and orban are both very oppressive and not good leaders. we all know about putin's oppressive streak of murdering opposition and enactment of regressive laws like criminalizing homosexuality. his penchant for oppressing the media and stamping out dissent is very troubling to me and i am not a fan of his tactics of meddling in the affairs of us and european nations

orban is also engaging in some suspect tactics like limiting the power of the courts and having the political wing take over stuff like overseeing corruption issues and that is a huge negative as it lowers transparency and gives more room to quell dissent through extra judicial means.

i feel that macron is struggling politically and has definitely made some errors, i dont think he will be imminently ousted though but will probably continue to struggle as civil unrest increases in france though. i really need to read more about that to have a educated opinion though

i think the eu will have to adapt and probably strengthen its immigration policies to continue to exist in its current state. things like brexit (whether or not it actually happens) and the general opposition to the really lax immigration standards it has make the current iteration of the eu untenable. if it dissolves it wont happen in the next few years but there are definitely issues that need to be addressed there.

i think trump is a huge liability and embarrassment and a criminal. his popularity is in the toilet (rightfully so) and his rhetoric is dangerous and unamerican. i have no faith the gop will do the right thing and remove him from office but the midterms were a repudiation of his politics and the mueller investigation continues to pump out damning info which has definitely harmed trump and his ability to govern. i do think he has not only hurt us domestically but internationally he is a joke and continues to harm our standing with our allies and stuff like his trade war is causing tremendous amounts of damage that will probably hurt us for years or even decades.

Its almost like you, a Bulgarianthat, if viewed on a geographic origin level as opposed to an ethnic or racial level, would be just as looked down upon as brown immigrants in the eyes of Eastern Europebenefit from lumping yourself in with other white people in a way that you know is not equally applied to non-white people.

Also, if youre gonna bring up the Turkish empire, then I have two further points. One, your victimhood ignores intersectionality, aka the fact that, for however oppressed your people claim to have been, historically, a lesser minority (lets use the Jews as an example because theyre typically the punching bag of majority groups) in the same circumstances wouldve faced far worse oppression as a result of that inherent bigotry found when a racial hierarchy is established.

And second, since you so kindly brought up Bulgarias historical oppression at the hands of the Turks, then your nationalist stance holds no water. 140 years is NOTHING in historical terms. Hell, the American Civil War ended longer ago than that and theres STILL a cultural divide between North and South Im this country. So youre gonna tell me that the Ottoman Turks ruled Bulgaria for nearly 400 years and yet Bulgaria is still pure and Christian without ANY cultural influence from the Turks? I call bullshit.

we know, factually that putin has done much of this and there are bipartisan, universally accepted intelligence findings that substantiate his meddling all across the world. even the eternally divided gop/democrats have accepted this and trump himself acknowledged the fact that russia meddled in our affairs despite the fact he wont own his own campaigns involvement. there is no question of some of these things
