Yes, each pillar is a raid boss that lasts until 2 million of each boss is killed. It's only for this time period though, anyone who reaches the final singularity afterwards just gets a story section.

It's functionally a giant loot pinata.

Yeah, and some pillars get rekt much faster than others because their loot is more lucrative.

Beyond that though I'm ready to wrap this singularity up so we can coast into the New Year.~ I also recently started playing Granblue Fantasy so it'll be neat with all the FGO reruns and such early this year to have some extra time to see what that's all about.

Yeah I dunno this whole last raid time sensitivity thing really turned me off from the game. Biggest thing I liked about F/GO is it tended to respect your time and didn't pressure you to do stuff immediately. Throwing out the final singularity + raid DO IT NOW (worse if like me you had not finished through Camelot at the time) goes against what I enjoyed about the game so I'm basically taking an extended break for now.

More power to people who are enjoying it though

It's not as punishing as most events, as all you miss out on are efficient farming spots. If you compare to the average event, missing out on that will deprive you of not only materials but also a unique gold Servant. I think you're probably taking it as a bigger loss than it actually is.

I guess you miss out on the 30 quartz too, but that's just a couple of mana prisms in the long run.

30 quartz is definitely more significant than most event rewards imo, even if the odds are it's not getting you anything valuable.

Anyway I've voluntarily abstained from full clearing events before and extended absence doesn't mean I'm quitting the game. I'm just voicing displeasure with the way they handled this. ESPECIALLY if we're getting a bunch of reruns soon it's like "why was there a huge rush"

Well the plot had a specifically set date for the incineration of humanity from the very beginning so this all kind of had to happen here. You could say they wrote themselves into a corner or didn't budget their time properly but there is an actual reason this had to happen before the new year, lol.

There's the plot reason, but this also signifies the developers' increasing willingness to lock future events behind current content. That becomes more obvious with the CCC event, but this could be seen as a start.

Sounds about right. There was a pretty huge dead time between a bit before Halloween and the beginning of December. Announce the singularity and completion campaign for it about 2 months earlier and it would be much better.

They did give a lot of apples and cut the story AP requirements in half so it's not like they didn't help you clear the singularity.

Camelot feels like such a long time ago, but this particular event feels like something they've been building up in game for a year, so I can give it a pass.

The game's followed JP pretty closely, so clairvoyance EX should have come into play as well.

It's not about AP it's about real time investment required. My choice was to skip the story or skip the quartz or spend solid days playing this game. I decided to skip the quartz but I don't like that I was forced into that choice as a day 1 player.

I do wonder, what would happen if these demons weren't killed by the time limit? Would the game end like it seems like it should, since humanity would be destroyed?

I'm way less casual than you I just had less drive to play by the game's rules when it pulled that on me. I beat Camelot but haven't even started the next singularity.

Though if go by Lopen's pace, the current event would have started in April.

At this point you might as well just scrap the concept of having an event play out.

Players who didn't clear Babylon in time still get access to all the clear rewards of this event, but DW just put the 30 SQ and Mats up for those who play content as its released.

If you're playing at such a less than casual pace, you wouldn't have grinded out the mats this event offered anyway.

I mean I've grinded more boxes than you in 2/4 of the box events I'm pretty sure. My pace is well beyond that of a casual. I just didn't want to try this one.

Basically this had box grind like pacing with standard event style rewards, which is a blunder imo.

Well, it's not really a big deal for now, TBH. But some later events like Christmas of next year and Halloween/Christmas of 2020 require the players to have finished at least Solomon or even the newest Singularities.

I think lately they've been better on the JP side about warning players that they'll have to finish the story before participating in events.

And I don't believe any of the EoR chapters require completion of Solomon.

Hokay got Euryale and Ushi final ascension + 3rd skills, power leveled them both as much as I can, time to try Gawain again after I eat!

I imagine Euryale is going to be doing much more damage with her NP because of the Arts up skill + 10 more levels. Should help a lot.

This is a fairly useless piece of information, but I was thinking about new Servant designs, the Support Caster meta, and realized: God, Casters sure are boring. I checked, and now and through JP, Casters are the least varied class, with Babbage and Nero being the only two non-Arts Casters. Berserkers are known for Buster decks, but I count 4 non-Buster Zerkers: Vlad, Nightingale, MHX Alter, and Atalanta. And as for Assassins, known for Quick decks, there are actually a ton of non-Quick Assassins, so that's even more varied. Despite this, Caster is the most numerous class!

A truly baffling decision, seeing it laid out like that.

Yeah I actually feel like Ilya's deck really should have been BBAAQ or even BBBAQ. She's still one of the most unique caster servants but they don't go all the way with her.

Yup, the deck similarity is silly. But AAA decks are pretty awesome for non-offensive Servants. Even for servants who want to NP Spam, like Sanzang... though BBAAQ for Sanzang feels like it'd be even better.

Tammy for me. Not as perfect as Waver, but better than Sanzang, so cool stuff. Just got Saberlot too, so I'll have someone solid to use her with. Her mats are kinda gross (160 Bones, 84 Pages, 90 Seeds), though thankfully I got a decent amount of most of those from the Christmas lottery and Solomon. Only having 1 Lore left is the true sadness...especially since I wanted to use it on Saberlot himself <_<.
