"I might work on some art," you say. "This scenery looks nice, so I might try to sketch something."

"Okay," Raven says. "After lunch then."

"After lunch," you agree.

The two of you wait quietly, and Radella's servant returns with a large tray. He sets it down on the small table between you and Raven, and Raven drops the filters so that you two can sit up.

"Smith took the liberty of selecting Coca Cola as your drinks to go with the hamburgers and chips," they say as they pour from a pitcher.

"Thank you," you say.

You both turn to sit sideways on the beach chairs and pick up your respective burgers. The servant puts the pitcher down on the table and takes a quick bow before leaving. You and Raven take your first bites and are pleased to see Smith keep the meat to a medium well so that there's a juicy quality to the patties.

"This is very good," Raven says.

"Smith's an amazing chef," you say.

"It's kinda funny that you didn't learn cooking from him but American fry cooks instead," she chuckles.

"Well let's not talk bad about the fry cooks," you say. "You liked my cooking, didn't you?"

"Good point," she says. "But chances are you'd make this animal style."

The two of you have a little laugh.

After you and Raven thoroughly enjoy your lunches, Raven prepares to meditate where she sits. She turns back to sit forward on the chair and crosses her legs.

"I'll be right back," you say.

You return to deck 5 and your room. You grab your art supplies and sketch pad and bring them back to deck 3. Raven is now floating, so she is clearly already in the process of meditating. You quietly sit back down and you consider sketching the sky and waves, but then realize that's a lot of blue and not a lot of interesting things to look at. So instead, you'll sketch...

You remember back while you sketch the beach chair. You plot out Raven lying back in that bikini and sketch in her basic figure. She didn't have a leg up but you decide to draw her that way, for some nice dynamic angles of those calves and thighs.

You carefully shade Raven so that the sketch doesn't come out too dark gray. You also carefully match the color of her hair so that it's the right shade of purple. Her swimsuit is easiest since it's plain black.

You use a spare page as your color testing area. You go through your set of purple and find traditional purple has too much red content to it. "Eminence" seems about right. You carefully color in Raven's hair, not wanting to have a stray strand on her cheek or forehead.

The most difficult part of a sketch like this, or any drawing really, is when you consider feet. It's not that Raven has awful looking feet, it's that you're not the best at drawing feet. You've never even really considered Raven's feet, as you and Raven have talked about not having such a fetish. Unfortunately it's a little too late to draw this sketch as if you were closer and the frame would "cut out" her feet.

You'll just keep her feet out of it, make it seem like the frame is closer.

You finish the sketch by switching the background from the boat's deck to a sandy beach. This is mostly because you can't match the color of the wood flooring. You use a soft yellow for the sand, and even throw in a palm tree in the very back in a very soft brown and green.

Raven opens her eyes as she finishes meditating. You smile as she looks over, and she smiles back. She floats back down onto the chair and turns sideways to face you.

"Did you finish any art work?" she asks.

"Yes, actually," you say.

You show her your sketch of her at the beach.

"Wow!" Raven says. "That looks really nice. It's like I'm on a desert island."

"Thank you," you say. "I was a little worried about the colors."

"No, I think you got it right," she says.

"The color of your hair?"

"Oh, uh, yeah, that, too. I meant my complexion."

"Yes, I was worried about matching that, too."

"What happened to my feet, though?"

"Oh, I avoided drawing them," you say. "I'm still not the best at feet."

"But if you don't draw them, you'll never get better at them."

"Yes but I wouldn't want to mess up your feet on this."

"Fair enough," she shrugs.

"I'm going to check on Shadowfax," you say. "He won't be able to run around while we're cruising, so I need to keep his engine warm."

"Okay," Raven says. "Then I'll... still be here? I figure we can save movie watching for later, and I'm not going back to the gym."

"Alright, I'll try not to be gone too long," you say as you gather up your art supplies.

You give Raven a quick parting kiss on the top of her head, and she smiles as you leave deck 3. You go down to deck 5 and to your room. You put your things away, change into pants and a shirt, then head down to deck 8 and the hangar.

"How're you doing, boy?" you say as you walk up to Shadowfax.

You pat the seat and check the tires. You dust Shadowfax's metal pieces off, from his tank to his handles and rims.

"Alright, let's make sure you're fine," you say.

You turn your key and he starts right up.

"Good, good," you say as you pat the seat again.

You wait for a few minutes, then turn the engine off. That should be enough to keep Shadowfax loose. You then move to check the tires. They're starting to be a bit soft, so you look around for an air pump. You find it but it's a bit far from Shadowfax. You carefully unhook Shadowfax and wheel him over to the air pump. It's a bit nerve wracking, as you fear the boat will suddenly pitch and rock with strong waves. But you make it safely to the air pump and breath easy as you hook up the air pump to the front tire.

You get the front tire just right, then move Shadowfax up for the rear tire's turn. A sudden tilt panics you, but you keep Shadowfax from falling over, mostly onto you. You can't quite keep him up, but you do get clear so you can rest Shadowfax on the floor.

"Sorry about that, boy," you say. "Hold on."

You lift Shadowfax off the floor and onto his tires. You use the air pump to fill the rear tire, then move Shadowfax back to where he was parked. You put the locks back on and inspect the side that hit the floor. You sigh in relief when you find Shadowfax is neither scratched nor scuffed nor smudged.

"Alright, see you again a little later," you say to Shadowfax.

You leave the hangar and go back up the stairs.

You stop by your room and pick up the deck of playing cards. You bring those with you as you return to Raven on deck 3.

"How's Shadowfax doing?" Raven asks.

"His engine is good, and I even refilled his tires."

"Oh? His tires don't fill on their own?" she says with a joking tone.

You smirk at her as you sit back down.

"Up for playing some cards?" you ask as you open the box.

"Oh. Sure. What do you want to play?"

"Poker," you say. "Specifically, we'll do Five Card Draw."

"Okay," she says as she saddles up to the table. "Will there be anything wagered?"

"Yes," you say. "Winner chooses tonight's first movie."

"Oooh~," she says. "Then this will be the difference between starting scary or starting silly."

"I like how you said 'silly' right there," you chuckle.

You shuffle the deck and deal.

"Since there's no ante to put up," you say, "we'll just make this the best two out of three hands. We'll allow each hand to hang around for a couple rounds to see if we can get the best hands possible. No folding, you play what you have, even if it's awful."

"Okay," she nods.

You put the deck aside and pick up your hand.

You have the Ace of Diamonds, Four of Diamonds, Seven of Hearts and of Clubs, and Nine of Clubs. Obviously you have a Pair but you'll need more than that.

"What cards are you exchanging?" you ask Raven.

"Three cards," she says.

She puts the three in a discard pile and you deal her three new cards.

You'll hold on to your Diamonds, because you'll have your Ace to fall back on. You put your two Sevens and your Nine in the discard and draw three.

Well, you end up with an Ace of Clubs, a Ten of Hearts and a Three of Hearts. Not at all helpful, aside from the pair of Aces you now have.

"Any more cards you wish to exchange?" you ask Raven.

"Just the one," she says.

She puts that card away and you deal her a new card.

You will have to give up on a Diamond Straight Flush, or even a plain Straight. You'll hold on to your Ten and ditch the low cards. You get another Ace and a Seven. If only you'd held onto a Seven, this would be a Full House.

"Well, time to show our hands," you say.

You show your Triple Aces, Ten and Seven. Raven has Two Pair, Kings and Jacks!

"I win the hand!" you say with relief. "One more, and I choose the movie."

You put the cards in the discard and deal out two new hands of five. Your luck impresses you, as you now have the Queen of Spades, and Two Pair already, Jacks and Fives!

"I'll give up this card," Raven says.

You give her a new card in return.

"And I'll give up this," you say as you put the Queen away.

You draw and get a different Queen. You want to drop to the floor but that would break your poker face.

"Do you need to exchange more cards?" you ask.

"Umm..." she says as she considers her hand. "No, I'm good."

"Then so am I," you say.

The two of you put your hands down on the table. You have your Two Pair, Raven only has one!

"Well, I win," you smile.

"Aww..." she pouts. "Well alright, you get to choose the movie."

"Thank you," you say. "But in return, you can decide dinner for tonight."

"Oh? Okay, then. Hmm... Well there's probably not enough time for stew, so perhaps we could have something a little lighter, like chicken or fish."

"Certainyly. What specifically?"

"Well, if we do fish, do you think Smith knows how to do sushi?"

"Sushi? What brought this on?"

"Well we're out at sea, the smell of the salt water, I guess I'm just in a sushi mood."

"Sushi it is. Any preferences?"

"No wasabi."

The two of you chuckle.

"Besides that," you say.

"Um... Maybe makizushi style."

"Excellent choice," you say. "Perhaps the main ingredient can be..."

"Salmon."

"Mmm, that sounds nice," she says.

"I'll go put the order in with Smith," you say.

Raven collects the cards while you get up and head for the stairs. You go back down to deck 4 and to the dining hall.

"Smith?" you call when you don't see him. "Smith?"

"Mr. Smith had to excuse himself to the restroom," one of Radella's servants says. "How may I help you?"

"Well, Raven and I would like to request sushi for dinner tonight," you say. "Salmon makizushi rolls, if that's possible."

"Alright," the servant says. "Futomaki or Hosomaki?"

"Futomaki, please," you say, going with the thick variety. "And to go with the salmon, include carrot, spinach, and tamagoyaki. If tamagoyaki isn't possible, then just normal scrambled eggs is fine."

"Would you like plain nori or a specialty?"

"Olive oil on the nori."

"And would you like something else with the sushi? Something on the side?"
