Fuck that stage

I lost to Ryu because he beat the crap out of me.

Former major league players Luis Valbuena and Jose Castillo were killed in a car crash caused by highway bandits who then robbed them, officials said Friday.

They were swerving to avoid obstacles in the road by bandits. It wasn't a rockslide or whatever was said before. That's super fucked up.

Man it was the worst losing the challenger approaching fights in like Melee and maybe Brawl where it was on a hard challenge and IIRC you had to do the challenge again.

Anyways, I got another work post. Sorry for all them but I gotta make up for the times when you guys would ask a question about our jobs and I couldn't answer anything:

I felt bad quitting after like a month but I guess I shouldn't since I've already outlasted three people at this point. One guy I guess didn't show up to his orientation on the right day so they fired him. Another girl who started the same time as me kept not showing up and they finally fired her yesterday. Then there was another new guy who apparently just walked out last night, his third day. It's kinda funny how absurd it is but also annoying since my schedule has been dicked over by this. Every work day is like a fucking guessing game whether the people who are supposed to help me will show up, and each new person I'll be impressed if they even last a week at this point. How do people like that even function?

All this is to say I'm not all that surprised by this, but for the first two or three weeks it seemed like maybe this wasn't the kind of place where that shit happened. At least all the cook/prep staff seem to be good about showing up and they'll help out with the dishes. But good lord, the dish staff is a fucking mess. Next time I'm just gonna try to get some shitty IT help desk job or something where I can at least maybe have a consistent schedule and not have to stand all day or worry about what my dipshit coworkers are going to do

I feel you there. I went through the same thing as a security guard. I counted 22 people who quit in the two years I was there, and that was on top of them constantly calling out, so I never knew if I was going to have to come in on my day off, or if anyone would come relieve me once my shift was over. There's nothing worse than expecting to be off of work and then having to work another 4+ hours.

Just tried playing smash online and it was actually unplayable due to lag. I killed myself to end it. Oh well!! Hopefully when we play together it won't be bad

Yeah, it is somewhat common tactic there. They throw rocks trying to get people to stop and then they rob them.

The game came yesterday from Amazon. I was tempted to play when my kids were at school just "to make sure it was working". But in the end I didn't.

Smash songs with vocals are always pretty bad especially when compared to the gigantic music library the games come with. Anyway based on a classic mode run I think Shulk feels much better in this one.

Did any of you play Katamari Damacy back in the day? My friend's gf bought it on my switch so I'll be replaying that soon

Good games with MNTwins, and the lag mostly stayed away (at the points where it got bad we were both kind enough to wait for it to become playable again rather than take advantage)

The lag was pretty good for the most part aside from a couple huge spikes, where I don't think I could have taken advantage of it even if I wanted to

No it was from Holiday. Do you guys have Holiday gas stations where you live? I've noticed that gas stations are like grocery stores. In your home state, a certain franchise is everywhere, but go 2 states away and nobody's ever heard of it.

I tried a few games of online matchmaking on Smash, and the online system is really bad. I hope they fix it. From what I understand, you set your "preferred" rules, and it puts you into a game based on that. My preferred was 1v1, stock, no items, so of course I got put into 4 player free for all games with items on some dumb map with a bunch of hazards. And for every matchmaking game you play, it adjusts your rating based on how you did, so my rating went down for playing an item spam free-for-all game, even though that's not how I wanted to play. It was also pretty laggy.

So as it is right now, the only way to consistently play the modes you want, you have to use the god awful friend code system and go to a message board and find people to play against, and in that mode there's not a rating system. So basically you have to go way out of your way to play against someone that may or may not be near your skill levl.

I don't understand how Nintendo has been so consistently awful at online play, and it's been this way forever. The freaking PS2 online was wayyy better than anything Nintendo has ever done. And it's laughable that they charge for this shit now. I know it's "only" $20 a year or whatever, but the fact that they're charging for a shit service that's 20+ years outdated is a complete joke.

Yeah I had a bad experience when I tried it the other day too unfortunately. You can make and join public arenas, which I haven't tried, but that might be better. You would at least be able to do 1v1.

I'm trying out that arena thing right now. I joined a public 1 on 1 arena for all skill levels. For some reason, they allow 6 people to an arena for 1 on 1 battles, and 4 people sit in the menu waiting their turn literally doing nothing while 2 people battle. Here's a live look:

Maybe this game mode is better for group battles or something, but it does not appear to be the solution for 1v1. I just want to play a 1 on 1 no items on a normal map but the game is making it impossible.

That's brutal. Maybe you can make an arena with a lower amount of people allowed in? Idk. Probably not.

Do you even speculate the fight between the 2 people that actually get to play?

I joined that arena while a battle was in progress, and was stuck in that menu in the picture until the battle ended. Then another 1on1 battle started, and I got to spectate, but it was really laggy and then a message saying something like "An error has occured" and I got booted. I can't be 100% sure, but I have pretty decent internet and I don't think the problem is on my end.

Yeah maybe you can, I didn't mess around with it for very long. I also don't know if this arena mode has a rating system, but I'd really prefer to play with ratings if possible.

I will say I do hate most stage hazards

I'll play with items if everyone else wants to but I think it's a much better game without them

Stage hazards and items are terrible. I don't mind playing on a stage with some unique shapes but hazards and items just feel cheap.
