Okay, Im a little concerned. Did Vindemiatrix cause crashes for anybody else? It was constantly crashing whenever I went to swap characters. I got through the fight (twice, becuase I forgot the no LB mission), but that was really annoying, and Im worried about the last two fights I have to do now.

What do I need to know before doing 10 mans? Like, can I have a universal 10 man team, or do I need to tailor each team depending on the 10 man I am about to do?

How difficult are 10 man content versus your typical Chamber of the Fallen stuff?

You tailor it according to the fight.

Can't bring dupes.

Bard skills lock your party for the duration.

You can switch out specific units and keep their buffs.

Boss usually have a hard stop, so you can't nuke it on turn one.

Dead units stay dead if switched and hurts your slots.

As you beat more you need to keep physical and magical attackers.

They take more effort since you need different units if you want to chain and can rotate what harms them.

Honestly, if you have even a few 7* units, most of the 10-mans are pretty badly power crept at this point. Tegmine used to be a monster, and now he's a joke. Almost all of them pretty much need to be one-shot in their last phase, otherwise you're going to either die or put in such a bad place that you'll never be able to recover. However, most of them have relatively small health pools, so that's not nearly as hard a feat as it sounds. For reference, I beat a lot of them with Tornado chaining with a 6* Barbie and Lexa. Some of them I didn't even need anything other than those two for finishing damage, just needing physical chainers for when certain bosses became magic immune.

Really, the hardest part of these fights is making sure you have a team built around the boss. The gearing alone can take quite a while, just because you need to equip 10 units with the stuff they need to perform their roles well. After that, it's just a matter of fighting the bosses with the occasional redo as you learn the patterns, assuming you don't just hit the hard thresholds every time and just bypass all the mechanics.

Out of the 4 free 10+1s, I got one rainbow (first week iirc) and it was my 6th Nyx.

Still, I'd rather have no rainbows in the other 3 than another Nyx, so I'm good. Don't really need more units since I'm barely going through the motions on FFBE now anyway.

Unfortunately yes. They trials are 10-man trials because they're designed around needing 8-10 units to be able to cover everything. Most trials require a mix of

2 tanks (mix between magic cover, physical cover, and evade provoke)
2 physical DPS
2 magic DPS
1 breaker
1 buffer
1 healer
1 summoner

A lot of bosses switch between being physical and magical immune, so you need to cover both DPS spectrums. You may need specific elements for a fight, so you have to change your gear accordingly. Breaks are almost required just because of how hard the bosses hit, and while buffs aren't required, they're damn useful. A healer is a given. And lots of the bosses have a 'Kill with Summon' requirement, and a summoner to cap a chain is usually the best way to get the OTKO on a lot of the bosses.

Look, I get that you can only put so much time into the game every day. But the game really does demand more than that. Outside of the RNG bullshit-fest that is summoning, this game is pretty in-depth in what it requires for the hardest content, and you can't expect to build a team that will be able to do it all (at least not until the content is powercrept). The puzzle is usually based around figuring out what your team needs to be able to clear content, and making sure you time thresholds and mechanics properly. You can brute force a lot of the older stuff; hell, even the early 10-mans you can probably get away with only a little bit of tweaking from one team to the next. But on the whole, you have to take the time to build your teams around the fight. And that's not including the grind for equipment, stat pots, cactuars, etc. A lot of the time investment is because Alim was full of crap in their game design, and made things not convenient at all (looking at you cactuar fusion and having to sell turtles). But most of the reward comes from being able to plan out your team perfectly to be able to handle the challenge.

Of course, you can be like me and still fail miserably even when you think your team is perfect, wasting all that time prepping units only to unequip them because you can't pass the trial. Still salty about Leviathan being a right bastard and continually screwing me over. So if you're not ready to put in that kind of time, it might be worth considering whether or not this game is a good fit for you.

Yeah, that might be my real issue. I don't usually make the time to just sit for a half an hour and play, I usually play in 10 to 15 minute spurts at the longest.

I can only imagine how frustrated I'd be too if I spent an hour trying to team build and be meticulous and then still fail.

I guarantee I have the tools to do the content, I just usually find myself having the time to plan, organize, and execute. Sadly, most the time, I find myself just hitting repeat while trying to multi-task whatever it is I'm doing in real life.

I was on Autopilot mode during the wait for Nier, like I still did events, but I TMR grinded a lot with macros and just didn't go much content.

Got my 10 2Bs and now I'm finally clearing harder content again. Once the event ends I'll probably go back to lightly playing while waiting for KH.

I'm running the raid right now, and arena just to get my orbs used, but I haven't really used my NRG for much over the last few weeks. Enough to clear some content, and that's about it. I think the most time investment I've put into the game has been trying Leviathan and clearing some 10-mans while they're cheap. I'm still having fun, but I can feel the slowdown hitting me like it last year, and the way Gumi keeps screwing with pull rates and banners to make them even stingier than JP? That's leaving a pretty bitter taste in my mouth.

I've still gotten way more time out of this than most other mobile games, and the money I have put in doesn't feel too badly spent. But it just isn't as fun as it used to be.

Never played any of the Fate games, so it'd be getting into another gacha just for the sake of playing another gacha. Been half tempted to get into one that's nothing but over the top anime girls just for the waifuisms, but meh. Half the reason I play this in the first place is to give myself something to do with my phone when it's not cool to pull out my 3DS or Switch. That and it gives me my gambling fix with the gacha and all, and I don't need more of that.

I played FGO for a couple months when it launched. I couldn't get into it, but I tried. I rerolled until I had a Zhuge Liang and Berserker, and kept up with the Joneses for a bit, but the grind burnt me out quick.

This won't work for me. It's very similar to A Song of Ice and Fire.

I used to think George R R Martin was a good author until I started reading stuff by much better authors (ie Brandon Sanderson). Now I can't go back to anything Martin writes and hold interest because it's not good, and he takes about a decade between books in ASoIaF.

I used to think Brave Exvius was a lot of fun, and then I started playing Epic Seven. There's no comparison. FFBE isn't as fun, and Gumi is greedy as hell, screwing over players all the time. While Epic Seven is less than a month old so they could take a turn and start being shitty, but you can reroll up to 30 times with the press of a button within the game so you can get a solid starting account, and the gameplay is just better.

Finding something better to compare to FFBE has made me realize just how much I dislike the game right now. If I take a break, I know I'm never going to come back.

I'm not gonna reroll, because I know that's a timewaster when these kinds of games average out to giving you something good in the long run, but I'm hoping the 5* Artifact I got after 1-4 is good. Got Rhianna and Luciella.

That's the beauty of it. After chapter 1 is done, the game gives you a free 10 pull. You can repeat it 30 times (or stop when you get something you like) with the tap of a button. They actually built rerolling into the game as a way to make sure people get a viable starting unit that they want. You can even repeat the process (though it'd take a while) if your rerolls don't get something you like.

The big prizes during rerolling right now are Destina (elite healer) and Sez (kills everything damage unit), but they're not required. The game gives you free units just by doing some simple quests, and you get a free daily summon. There are a lot of 3* units (most popular being Kiris and Alexa) that can outdamage a lot of 5*s also.

Let me know when you hit level 10, I can see about getting you into the guild I'm in with some other gfaqs people. We're really active and have guild buffs put up daily (8 hours with a 10% increase in gold, exp gain, and 10% decrease in healing costs)

I missed the first two weeks and I'm not spending (learned my lesson!) but the game is very f2p friendly. There's obviously a lot of luck involved though. The only thing I don't like is that you can get artifacts instead of units while summoning. In this game, there's nothing worse than seeing the little sprite lady pop up to announce you got a 5*, only to see that the text is for an artifact and not a unit.

They sell a bundle for 950 skystones (lapis) that gives you 10 summons and a penguin (cactuar), and I've done a lot of those already, probably 6 or 7. After you complete the normal story you can go through again on World (aka hard mode) and get all of the rewards again. There are a bunch of other maps that are unavailable at this point, so it looks like this game is going to be huge!

Ravi is really, really good. When I'm doing the really annoying missions on hard mode I bring either her or Sez as a friend unit. Carmaine is awesome too, I used her up until I pulled Aramintha, still swap her in depending on the battle though.
