I thought it brought more sense to the story. It gives somebody like Vel'Koz an excuse to be around. He gets roped into it as a promise that he will gain as much wisdom as he wanted. Or give Renekton and Brand the story that they must be contained for being too beastly and that they will be used as penance for their crimes.

I always felt that the high summoners were woefully underutilized. I always invisioned them as the Guardians from Green Lantern. Just a bunch of stuck up assholes who want to run the world. They keep this world in order by doing these summoning rift games and everyone is basically at the mercy of them begrudgingly. On the outside, they seem good natured, but they do shady shit like bringing around fucking Renekton from another universe instead of putting his ass down so they can just ship him off to compete for the highest bidder in the summoning rift games.

And then you could have a story (ahahahaha) if they ever decide to branch out their highly successful series into literally any other medium where eventually these creatures can escape or do escape. Like if something like Vel'Koz gets out, shit gets real. Because you have this nigh godly creature looking to vaporize anyone to gain knowledge, and he needs to be locked back up immediately. Or, again, Renekton escapes and goes on another butcher rampage and Nasus needs to put him back in line. Instead we get this dumb shit where they have static stories, nothing changes, and it's impossible to actually give a shit because it has nothing to do with the world our game is in.

You have all these relationships and rivalries and none of them matter because there is nothing done with them. I would have killed to see a Jinx vs. Vi and Caitlyn story where Viktor is funding Jinx's insane new scheme for his own agenda and Jayce gets involved to help out his buddies Caitlyn and Vi.

Or a big story about Leona and Diana's rivalry, where Diana just goes back and butcher's the sun tribe while Pantheon and Leona must defend it. They have so much they can do with this universe and these characters, but there's no ramifications for any of it.

They could be the biggest company in the fucking world if they were proactive at all with anything. League would be more than a household name right now. And kids would be walking around with dumb Teemo dolls everywhere. But Riot cannot get their shit together enough to have capitalized on any of this half a decade ago when they were at their most popular.

As if they haven't had tons of people banging down their doors begging to work with them to create media for one of the most popular video games of the modern generation. Okay, I wasn't sure if you were serious or not. Lol Thanks for clarifying the meme. It just blows my mind that the most media mainstream thing we have for League now are just commercials on TV well after it's been in it's prime. Unless they are in their prime now and I'm missing it.

True story: I honest to god almost applied to work for them with a portfolio with scripts and ideas and concepts.

Then they announced they were going to ditch the Summoner's Rift being canon and I said this is absolutely absurd and this company is so dumb for this. And then I saw maybe one or two of the lore change stories after and went "wow this shit is bad" and abandoned the idea completely.

In the long run it worked out because I may have had to work with Anthony Burch, and I'd rather be homeless.

I don't think doing anything with the lore would have made them a better and more successful company. They killed their game by literally ruining the one thing it was good for: ranked queue. Instead of giving us our current role matchmaking in 2015 they fucked it up with their flex queue shit and then started nerfing solo play so everything is just depending on your team of monkeys and trolls.

Yeah to Reg's point the esports side hit a pretty high point this year as it was Koreas worst performance at the world championship, north America had a team make the semifinal for the first time since like season 2, and Europe had its first finalist since season 1. Also China won its first world championship, and overall the world championship felt incredibly diverse as far as champions played went. It was the first world championship that featured the 10 ban system which has definitely helped imo

Darius has an axe not a sword that's the easiest way to tell the two sword guys apart.

Also Gnar has two forms like a few characters, one is a cute fluffy thing one is a raging hulk monster.It's like a prehistoric Jekyll and Hyde or somBanner and Hulk or any other number of unique designs. I also hate his "cute" lines.

He looks like an action hero from an 80's movie which is... kinda cool, I guess! Honestly despite me giving more points for badass male characters over weaklings, I would say this trope isn't one that really stands out to me too much. There's still a few I will rank him over, but if we start seeing more actual good characters I would see him and all of them moved further down the list as we go.

His skins are much better than his default design, I'll give him that much.

THE SHADOW OF WAR. Now this is a cool looking monster. Honestly when I just saw Fiddlesticks face I thought he would look something more like this. So all of those dashed expectations toward Fiddlesticks when I saw his real design, have all been transplanted to Hecarim and boosted his score even further.

Not only that, but I read a bit about his playstyle and it does sound pretty fun. He's a melee fighter who can cleave and create Aoe damage around himself, which is good for me because I stuck at aiming. On top of that he seems to have some kind of charge which is always satisfying as well. Nothing more awesome than charging down some puny human and banishing them as they try to flee.

The combination of melee and magic is something that seems like it would make a lot of sense but gets underutilized quite a lot, so the designers get some credit for that as well. I mean, really, using magic would make your melee fighting abilities so much more ridiculous. In a world where magic exists there's literally no reason not to enhance your melee with some magic... unless you are super invested in getting immediately decimated by the guy who enchanted his sword to weigh nothing and pierce through anything.
