Sexism as when woman are dressed like this:

https://imgur.com/6mkSB9u

For no other reason than to be portrayed as sex objects. Also note how she's not athletic, while if she was male, she would be toned and tight. But since athletic women are not seen as sexy, she has a soft body instead. This is also sexism.

So why is not sexism banned in games? And now we're talking about romantisized sexism.

Romanticized racism is banned in many more places than video games and portraying women as sex objects is still a standard and acceptable in many more places than just video games.

Depends on how they're portrayed. This character in particular is not tough or strong, she just lets her ass hang out for no reason.

If you have a female who is portrayed as both strong and sexy, then yes some women want to play as that.

Banning sexy outfits is a little ... extreme, even by my standards.
That being said, yes, video games have historically struggled to not be sexist. Given the increase in women who play video games as well as the awareness of it, I think it has become less of an overarching issue in the industry.

Why are comparing the two as if there's any casuality or correlation between the two?

Also, portraying women as sex objects doesn't alienate nearly as much of the targeted populace as racism does. Women are still treated as capable and equals in video games despite being represented as sex objects.

I wasnt implying a lack of sexism, but a ban on sexy outfits is unreasonable.
Should it be the industry standard? Absolutely not.

Its extreme and doesnt really help much in the sense that the underlying assumption is that women only dress a certain way for male pleasure, rather than assuming the woman is an agent capable of making decisions that are not always male centric.

But this argument is flawed, because this female character doesn't have a will of her own, she's created by males, for males. And by doing that, not only do they dress her in a sexist way, they also shape her body in a sexist way.

OK. It's about the portrayal of OP girl.

Instead of having a proper outfit and having a fit body, she's wearing a thong and her body is soft. The reason is that a thong and a soft body is more sexy than a proper outfit and an athletic body.

That is, she's made into a sex object, which is sexism.

I meant in a general sense. But I do think that there has been improvement in the industry. Hopefully improvement will continue.
Sexism I think doesnt generally anger people as much as racism, nor should it be seen as a battle for who is the most oppressed.

Thats debatable. Something a bit less obvious and that covered more would be appropriate for a mercenary. That body type is slightly unrealistic regardless of what she is intended upon portraying.

This is only one small fragment of a larger problem imo.

We should fix that. Although I actually don't see why you're making a big deal about soft vs athletic bodies because a lot of people find athletic bodies sexy.

Sexism really works both ways in video game. You dont see fat tublard male protagonists in video games that often unless it's to make fun of them. The general demographic of male gamers sent represented by characters like Solid Snake, Captain Falcon, Geralt, etc. Its all fantasy at the end of the day.

This is not something that will always be the case. These types of characters are usually designed to appeal to straight male sexuality, but being designed by females is quite common, especially in Japan.
