I mean, X (and X-2 by extension) was just was much of a hallway simulator. The differences being:

- X allowed for backtracking to earlier areas
- X held your hand less
- X made more efforts to give you the illusion of freedom, despite the corridors being all over.

So, that said, let's not discount XIII's quality as a game, albeit a poor one, just because of how railroaded the experience was. XIII actually was better than XV, because it tried to have a point, and the first game of the trilogy was so whole without the need for an anime, a movie, a mobile game or two, and however much DLC besides just to tell a fraction of the story missing from the core game. XV had an open world? That's nice. It was a piece of crap with shit to do between objectives on that map, and night fell so quickly that you could barely do the quests that were present.

No that was a combination of Squeenix realizing that the story was incomplete, and that it could always make even more money, regardless of the core game's sales. Square Enix is greedy and leaves for wont when it comes to quality content or story. XV only kicked off their claim to the "games as a service" model.

And I still fail how to see it's a incomplete story. If it where I'd have far more questions about things that happened. The only dlc that felt like a low blow on withheld info was ignis. The rest felt like they where intentionally written that way to push dlc sales. Not one thing about Gladys dlc was important to the story. He could have never left the party and jack shit woulda been different.

Promptos didn't really add anything relevant either other than better explaining what he already tells you after his rescue.

FFXIII is better than FFXV purely on the merit that XIII wasn't so bad that it made me return the game during the tutorial.

Only Square Enix could make a game so jarringly different than its predecessors that it makes one of its most religious followers quit in the tutorial.

We've all been contemplating Blitzball since the Gold Saucer came out at the end of ARR. It was brought up again pre-SB when swimming and diving were added. So we'll see, I guess.

If you refer to me show me where I argued it was good. I'll wait. Good is an opinion and I'm not here to argue opinions. I said you don't need the movie anime or dlcs to understand the story. But for some reason people keep trying to spread that ignorant BS.

FFXV has a whole menagerie of technical problems. The framerate ranges from about 2 to 57. Loading takes a god damn age. I fought a pack of coeurls last night, and they all did the lightning attack thing at the same time. I thought my computer was going to melt. The screen was frozen for like 15 seconds then all of a sudden "Game Over" and it took like 2 minutes to load out of the game over screen. Sometimes it hitches in the middle of attacking, and even though the attack clearly hits the target, it hitched at just the right time that the attack didn't do anything. Also, for whatever reason, whenever it runs, it takes up the entirety of my SSD as virtual memory. And it's not even installed to the C drive. And even then it still takes for fucking ever to load.

Oh, and sometimes I'll be driving down the road, and all of a sudden I'll get a loading screen.

So you saying a ps4 is more powerful than your computer? Cause I have none of those problems. Think I've had a framerate drop a handful of times but it's rare.

I wouldn't say a PS4 is more powerful than my computer. My computer is above recommended settings. So it must be way more powerful than a PS4. What's more likely is the game is either horribly optimized for PC, or, something about the game doesn't like something in my particular hardware configuration. Porting to PC is tricky business, and SE doesn't exactly have the best track record there.

Before Chapter 9(?) when the open world becomes a linear game, there is a sort of circular route you can run around on foot to find glimmers on the ground. Use that to find coins.

Put enough of said coins into your magic spells, which should contain a ton of the drawn elements that are easy to recharge. The coins act like multipliers.

Find a worthwhile fight to combat. Use the magic. If you find a cactuar then it's even better.

Repeat enough times before going to the resort. Then enjoy the levels you get.

Oh, also, 5.0. So in 4.x, expanding housing was a HUGE issue, for months and months. That, and a ton of glamour and other related systems got expansions/additions/reworks/whatever. I hope that they kind of just used 4.x to get that stuff out of the way, and 5.0/5.x they focus on things people want, like more dungeons and trials content per patch. Although, that being said, the glamour dresser does need some work. Even if they don't add extreme versions, I would love the 5.0 Hildy questline to add more fun, silly trials like the Gilgamesh fights.

Apparently we might be getting a Yojimbo trial in the 4.5 Hildy quests, I really hope that's true.

Also, whatever happened to Ozma (Savage)?

Don't forget pushing Eureka despite the increasing number of jeers and cries, because of Diadem + watered-down FFXI.

Not without some serious monetization. You know...

- 24 hour cooldowns per Trust, unless you pay a "small fee" per NPC for that day or week, which then adds up quickly.
- Purchases of rng-based drops or abilities (lol BLU) gained, which will be even worse than the original game.
- You can only access so many zones a day, due to "mobile server limits" unless you pay a quarter per area during that same day, use it or lose it.
- RMTs will run rampant with their advertisements, but you can block them that week for a price.
- Shantotto, Lion, and a few other NPCs will not appear to you unless you buy their "optional content packs."

Yeah it sounds weird. I wonder if the goal is by the end of 5.x it will be level 80 capped slowly. That's a strange way to do it. Maybe it's because it HAS to learn monster actions, so they want you to have ample time and opportunity to learn them.

Marv and I both suspect that the 50 cap is so BLU won't mess with the META or balancing of raids during StB. The cap will probably go to 80 with ShB since that will be when we see an overall shift in balancing with Gunblader and Dancer.

Anyway, back to FFXV!

Went over to The Rock of Ravatogh. I found the weapon there, my second outside of the initial 2 you get in the tutorial. While I was there I did a couple hunts. Oh boy. The first one, against six wasps was the hardest thing I've done in this game so far. I used pretty much all my phoenix downs, mega elixers and most of my hi elixers. I would use a mega elixer, and about 4 seconds later I would have to use another one. The problem was they have NO tells for there attacks as far as I can tell, my weapons, despite having hundreds of points of damage on them, were doing next to nothing, and that was if I could even hit them at all.

Long story short, fuck wasps.

Then I did another one where I fought 7 wyverns, and that was a piece of cake, despite being a higher level fight. Didn't have to use a single curative.

Edit: Oh, also, Noctis is an asshole lol. At the peak of the Rock, Prompto was like "wow, this view alone was worth the climb!" and Noctis was just like "Ehhh, no it wasn't" lmao

Keep in mind also that he has a slightly different personality between Japanese and English lines. As in, they were totally written different. We got the asshole who is relatively proud, compared to the laid back guy who's just glad to help or contribute.

Calling it now, when they "announced" Viera yesterday, everyone pictured this:

But, what we're actually getting is this:

Shorter, cuter, pale, etc.

The most popular race/gender combinations in FFXIV are cute ones. So, Miqo girls, Auri girls, Lalafells. They know this, so they don't want to make a tall race since few people play Elezen and Roegadyn.

Ideally, since there will presumably be two clans, the best thing they could do is make one clan the tall elegant version, and make the other the shorter, lalafell with bunny ears version. Make everyone happy. I don't see that happening though.
