During the war, I noticed this amazing lady called Duchess Sara the Frog with 18 Martial, Organizer, and Flanker. Naturally, she became my commander. Awkwardly, in our first game, Im playing alongside the Jarl of Iceland who was almost a traitor while Im defending against my dad the court physician who just fucking saved my life from food poisoning. Eventually, Dad won the game, and Pete smashed the table and sent pieces flying. But honestly, Im kinda glad it was Dad and not the almost-traitor. Uhh I dont know what the fuck happened, but Pete just got the Lunatic trait and the game didnt tell me in a big popup. Instead, it told me in a very small unnoticeable popup and the Jarl of Icelands portrait was in the corner. Did she do this to me somehow? OH MY GOD. It was because she was my Cupbearer! Shes been poisoning me! (She was a good vassal in the days of Queen Amana, so I didnt think about needing to switch minor titles like that). Fucking hell. My options are to imprison her or kill her right now. I mean, if I imprisoned her, Id just execute her later and probably get a prestige/piety/vassal opinion hit. KILL HER NOW. We got another Lovecraftian event which may lead to my death. This time with flavor text reminiscent of Color Out of Space. Pete looked into a well and noticed colors like none hes ever seen before the rest of it plays out the same. He read the necronomicon, got a cult, chanted some stuff, and either dies from Cthulhu or dreams of ramming a boat into him. You can choose if the event was real or not, but if its real you die lol. And then if it was a dream, you select if you want prestige or Godslayer which is a cool modifier that gives you extra Martial, so of course I take it. However, I think Paradox upped the odds of characters getting siege leader because Ive had waaaay more than normal. Usually Id take it immediately, but Ive had no shortage of siege leaders to choose from and currently I have two commanders with it. Furthermore, I feel like taking Organizer is something I always do. So for the sake of being unique and for role-playing, Im gonna go with the third option Inspiring Leader. Pete Persnickity will inspire his troops in battle! While raiding, I dueled a woman leading a merc band for control of her mercs. I killed her easily, and won her 1000 men. Peasants have been coming into the cities to sell their wares. Man, Pete doesnt have time for this. Hes raiding and killing! Preparing for the next war against the King of Sweden whos gotten fucked up and is now incapable. I ranked up within the Wolf Warriors and then underwent some extra training. Pete is now Fearsome, a new trait that bolsters heavy foot infantry which Norway has a small amount of right now, but hey, Ill take it! The more huskarls I make, the more heavy troops I get While I wait for my truce against Sweden to go away, I went to war with Estonia a holy war! But theyre Suomenusko, and that religion is almost dead, so Im not worried about them calling in allies and holy orders to fuck me. As I was getting my troops ready, some Sunnis rose up in the Shetland Islands, so I had to crush them real quick. Pete executed their leader, a man named Macbeth, by walling him. For the love of God, Pete Persnickity! Also, does it count as killing him if you trap him behind the wall and let nature take its course? Because in that case, no man born of woman killed Macbeth. The Suomenusko did outnumber me a little bit because they were the defenders, so their king got bonus opinion and therefore more vassal levies raised. So I had to use a sneaky trick. I put 5000 men on that island while another 5000 waited in those boats. I baited their 10000 stack across the straight, reinforced, and then chased them down with an Organizer. During the battle on the island, Pete Persnickity became battle frenzied! He became known as Wolf Spirit. Denji punched a kid in the face, and Im sure Pete would be all atta boy! but since I want Denji to be an Intrigue kind of guy, I will encourage him to be more patient. The woman Pete initially dueled to get in with the Wolf Warriors has become a friend of his. In fact, he now has the option to pursue a romance with her. Erm, did I mention she was 30 years older than him? I dont know if Pete is into old women. Well, he had two kids through his Ugly, Strong wife whos 10 years his senior, so maybe Pete confessed his feelings toward her, but she did not reciprocate. He was friendzoned, but thats probably for the best. So it turns out Tomboletta was one of those names that kept getting passed down, and now its the name of the Queen of Finnmark. Wait, why is Finnmark independent? Time for conquering! Oh jeez, as Petes spymaster is talking to him about some trivial matter, Pete started feeling his berserker rage! He bites down on the table, frothing at the mouth! He he managed to calm down. Phew! Pete bit out a piece of the table and spit it out as the spymaster is droning on. And then Pete takes out his axe and chops up the table into firewood. The spymaster looks at him and asks Are you feeling well, my King? And Pete says yes yes. I just need a moment to collect my wits. Pete was sitting on the floor of his bedchamber, wearing one of his shoes as a hat, when suddenly a man-sized gopher entered the room! It was dressed as a maid, and when he shouted in alarm, the rodent squealed and skittered away in a panic. He chased it down the hall, but only found a terrified maid cowering on the floor. He asked her if she saw where the gopher went. Damn it, one of my shitty jarls challenged me to a duel and I thought I had a good chance of winning, but I didnt. He tried the same thing again a few months later, and that one was a draw. Now Im plotting to kill him because Ill be damned if this stupid fucker thinks he can just duel me over and over. YEAH, about time I got upgraded to a Brilliant Strategist! Chancellor was Glitterhoofd, but thats okay because it made me realize that I had a vassal with higher diplomacy and who liked me more lol. The cousin of mine who tried to put himself on the throne had SOME titles revoked, but not all because I found out I couldnt take away titles in the Kingdom of Sweden. And so I increased crown authority. I still tortured him by tying him to a pole and leaving him outside overnight (Ive never seen that one. Its either new and/or Norse-specific.) My men thought they met Odin, the damn fools. Another damn fool vassal declared war on me when he was just about at 100% of my forces and I have loadsamoney. Bad move. His goal is to put my beautiful sister Amana, spymaster supreme, on the throne. I wont punish Amana for it because hes doing it on his own. Also, because he revolted, it meant him and his fellow traitors were no longer voting for new laws and I was able to pass kingdom viceroyalties! Amazing! Now I can hand out kingdom-level titles to good vassals, and they come back to me when said vassal dies, thus eliminating their obnoxious kids from becoming pests. Shes not completely stable, and shes starved-looking and oddly jumpy. I questioned what she was doing. She claims she had a lover at court and she was on her way back to the castle when he fell ill. Devastated by the loss, she remained in the tunnels. Well, Denji is the only one in his court allowed to have lovers and this woman is not one of his, so she has to go. Besides, she might have measles. Then Denji awoke in the middle of the night to a loud clamoring down the corridor. Outside the room, the shadows of pitchforks paint the walls and he hears screaming. Denji was also injured, and became a disfigured mess. Elizabeth made her get away, but I found out whose court she ran to. I plotted to kill her. Oh no Richard Please the Beneficent has show signs of measles! I cant throw out my son and heir! It was those fucking peasants storming in! Those fuckers brought the measles in! Oh Jesus, my nephew, one of Amana the Heavenlys sons, became and adventurer and just plopped his 8000 men on top of my retinue. RIP retinue. After I kicked his ass, I threw him in prison and tortured him. He was left outdoors overnight in this cold Norweigian winter. The Trollmadr (leader) of the Fellowship of Hel passed away and now I am the leader. Oh yeah, Im part of that community. I cast Dark Healing on myself, wondering if it would cure my disfigurement. I wanted to see if any of my concubines were interested in joining my cult. One wasnt a sinner, and the other wasnt interested. But my niece Ingibjorg was interested. She also hates my guts because I tortured close kin Oh yeah, the guy who just put his 8000 troops on mine was her brother. >_> Well, shes interested in joining!
