If every state keeps its current standard time, I'm for it. If any states move an hour to the east, I'm against it.

The current time zones were built on the assumption of year-round standard time. Allowing states to circumvent the lack of DST with de facto "permanent DST" would be a logistical nightmare, which is exactly why states aren't allowed to change their time zone without federal approval.

I've never lived anywhere with DST but it sucks when I forget to account for it when converting the time for events and miss them so I say yes get rid of it

I hate having to adjust clocks especially having to account for internal clocks and having my sleep schedule messed up.

But then again the point is to just change the clocks instead of changing around schedules I think, which would probably be more complex.

This is a hopeless battle anyway, probably best to just leave it alone.

A large part of Europe is on the same time zone, people just adapt their lives around it.

In Poland you work from 8 to 16, while in Spain we normally enter around 9-9.30 until 18-18.30

If we stayed on what is now DST, yes.
If we remained year-round on standard time, not a chance.

I'd actually rather we moved another hour ahead. I really don't care about daylight in the morning, but I really appreciate it in the evening. I can skew my own schedule that way if I choose to, but that would mean getting up early, and I don't want to get up early. I just want to have sunlight deeper into the day.

If I lived on the west coast, I might feel differently, but the thing is I want to both be up relatively late (because online people are typically up later than I would be) and not miss out on daylight because I chose to get sufficient sleep.

You don't get it. You go to work at the same time of day, that time is just called 6:00 instead of 9:00.

Time doesn't have to be linked to the sun anymore. Or rather, we can have colloquial sun-based times that we refer to for certain things, like "morning", "noon", "night", but for scheduling and communication, we have a universal constant time.
