And just go straight into "acceptance"?

It is inevitable that I will never be of any worth to society, I will end up absolutely alone once my parents die, and I will likely either end up homeless or be like these guys in 20 years or so.

https://www.oddee.com/item_98735.aspx

I am completely and absolutely worthless. Not to the point where I am suicidal (I'm not), but if I were to die tomorrow, absolutely nothing would change, except that PotD would be a slightly better place.

How do I just accept the inevitable, instead of trying to fight it (and failing), or denying it?

Volunteer man, seriously so many people out there need help. Life can be a real pain, and mostly it's cause we don't help each other out enough. If everyone cared about each other and helped each other out, we would live in a utopia.

Helping others can actually give meaning to you life, and actual happiness. When other people are happy, it can help you feel it as well, no matter how depressing your life is.

Kids especially have a joy of life that is infectious, try tutoring of volunteering in a classroom. Teachers freaking need the help especially in states like California.

You also will make contacts, friends etc while doing all that, which can also help make your life better and more rewarding and give you a variety of activities you look forward to. Try learning to cook if you don't already and then start taking turns making meals with friends or start a local pot luck etc, it's rewarding to make a good meal for others, that everyone enjoys and just as much fun to visit others and have a good meal with them.

Look into playing dungeons and dragons or a card game like magic the gathering with people in your area, and consider using meetup.com to find other activities you might enjoy as well.

I know it sounds silly, but seriously consider joining a local YMCA or other fitness center with water areobics classes, they can be a great way to both excersize and meet people/socialize.

Consider trying to make plans for future trips to do things you might enjoy like white water rafting etc, something to look forward to, that you are working towards. Having goals is also a good way to give life meaning.

Also, if you don't read, reading good books is a great way to break depression etc, there are tons of people on this board that will recommend many great authors if your interested (including me).

Don't worry about being a contribuation to society either, work towards actually enjoying your life and then, once you have ways to accomplish that, you will have the energy and ability to spread that happiness to others around you. Volunteering can help get you there at first if you have absolutely nothing that interests you in life anymore, but long term you need to find your own happiness before you can really start to spread it to others at least long term.

That at least has been my experience.

Best of luck to you:)

Thanks for the advice, but almost all of that is not within my reach right now (since I don't even have a car, and I honestly don't want one, since I would likely get myself or somebody else killed).

I am not religious, but even if you are not, you might consider reaching out to a local church. They usually have many volunteer opportunities, and could probably pick you up on the way to them (or come get you, or if the church is close you could just walk there).

Often nice/good people at churches, and it is another way to socialize and meet new people. Might not be perfect for you, but it could get you out of the house at least and give you a place to start.

If you have money, you can use uber etc without having to pay for a car. In fact, if you do it less then twice a week it's cheaper then paying for insurance/registration/gas etc, I almost got rid of my car because of that.

And that is saying there isn't cheaper public transportation near you.

Also if you use the internet to find meetups etc, or DnD groups, often someone else in the group can pick you up. If the local Library is near you, they usually have a room for get togethers and it's likely you could find something to do there (or set up your own meetup there). You could also read to kids etc if you wanted they are often looking for volunteers for that.

I get that it's hard to find the motivation to even look for anything, but once you start, it gets easier and easier. The hardest part is getting out of the rut, once you have fallen into the habbit of just doing the bare minimum and just trying to find things to pass the time, with the minimum effort possible.

The less you do, the harder it is to try and start doing anything, and the more overwhelming that feels. All I can say is start with small steps, even if it's just walking around your neighborhood for 30 minutes or so a night. Just getting out and doing anything can help you start moving forward.

How the hell do I improve myself? How the hell do you expect me to fix my premature balding, my man-tits, my autism, and have everyone around me not hate me? Appearance is the main thing for attracting women (since I have no money), and that is something I am critically lacking, and it's one of the main reasons why women avoid me like the plague (especially those who never met me before).

How the hell do I get money to actually do things, when I can't even afford to pay for my own transportation? How the hell do I get a career that is relevant to my major, when I will be passed up due to my lack of experience and that I am not "diverse" enough to meet their quota (as well as schoolwork taking up almost all of my time.

How the hell am I supposed to fix all of that in a short-term order?

Fuck it, I'll just be homeless when I turn 40. Nobody else would care.

Most of all that you can fix. Baldness isn't really bad at all, just go with it and shave your head (I have friends who have done that), or I guess there are wigs you can get eventually etc. I was seriously thinking of wearing a cyan wig for awhile (It just looks stupid on me sigh).

I don't know where you live, but walk around for now...build up your stamina, and I bet there is a place within walking distance you can at least get a minimum wage job. Yeah, sounds like you went to college etc, but any job is better then none, and any money is better then being broke. You don't have to pay back student loans if you make less then a certain amount as well, so if you have them, you might not even be making much less at that point.

As far as chicks finding you attractive, EVERYONE finds people having fun attractive. Find things you enjoy doing, do them, and then invite others to do them with you. That is honestly the key I have found. It helps to have social skills etc, and of course body type matters, but you can work on getting in shape, and you would be amazed at how little that can actually matter (especially if your going in a positive direction). There are plenty of girls out there looking to/trying to get in better shape as well, and the fact you are actively doing that, would be very attractive to them, even before you actually got there.

Also, honestly 40 is pretty young at this point....which sounds crazy but it's true....there is no rush here, you could take 2 years to get yourself put together before really starting to date etc, but in 2 years you could be a whole different person if you work on it every day.

You just need to find the motivation within yourself, and actually the BIGGEST part is having something you actually want or desire. If you still want to date, or find a woman to care for and that will care fore you, you have already won the race. You have something to motivate yourself and are WAY ahead of the game then many people at this point (myself included). I don't have almost anything I desire left in life, and just living for other people only goes so far. I am trying to find things I want to do, like travel around the country, but it's a constant effort.

If you have things you want, things that you would get if you had the money for it, places you would go if you could etc, then you have motivation. Use that, and focus on it.....get out there and try...you have nothing to lose. There are SO many people out there (yes of the opposite sex as well) in a similar situation that could use a partner. If you are going in a positive direction and actually trying....you will find someone to make the journey with you.

"oh shit I'm fat and balding. guess I'll die."

That is literally how you sound right now. There's just something about you that frustrates me so spontaneously. I mean, I have a good chance of going bald within the next two years, I used to be fat. I was diagnosed with autism. I used to be jack shit with girls, I came from a lower middle class family with no money. and I may be 17 right now but you're not really that far away from me.

None of that stopped me from getting in shape, making my mistakes and at least having the courage to talk to girls, and getting a job to pay for my own shit. I'm serious when I say I want to attend the US Naval Academy, one of the top schools in the country. Just last year I was in no shape, physically academically or morally to apply.

but do you know how I got to this point? I STOPPED BEING A WHINY LITTLE BITCH ALWAYS FEELING SORRY FOR MYSELF AND FOCUSED ON ACTUALLY IMPROVING MY LIFE. Like I said, there's just something inherently vexing about you that I just couldn't put my finger on for ages, but maybe it's the way how you sit around doing jack diddly shit and you have the NERVE to feel sorry about yourself when you never actually do anything! You can't say you feel bad but constantly continue to do that shit! that's fucking messed up!

Look, I'm going to be honest. Shave your head now (trust me you'll look better), start going for walks, do some push ups every now and then, get a job a mcdonalds (they have no standards! I work at Wendy's but we had some real ugly mother fuckers work here!), start by saying hi to people. respect everyone.

It ALL begins somewhere. It's just a start, you'll continue to grow and develop as time marches along. That is why in my sig I say "it all begins with the first hope filled step" which means as long as you believe yourself, and STOP BEING A FUCKING PUSSY AND APPLY YOURSELF, YOU'LL IMPROVE

I'm not you. I should be you, and I will take steps to actually do it. Why the hell do you think I am working my ass off in school, taking subjects that are difficult to comprehend? I want to make money, so I want to at least secure some job that would validate my own degrees.

I don't know how to be independent. I am not ready for that. I don't even know how to cook. I need to, and I will eventually do that. But I can't go through life with my hand held or have any guidance whatsoever, so I will likely end up homeless regardless due to my extreme inability to cope with reality.

As far as I know, my reality solely consists of pixels, polygons, textures, sprites, HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

It's not about school, but everything outside of school or your education matters just as much. Dude seriously, get a low end job just to hold you off. Especially in places like fast food, you will always be surrounded by people. There is always someone willing to lend a hand. It's OK to ask for a helping hand, damn

So let me ask you this. Is this laptop an Alienware? Was it $1400? Was it slightly used? Was it replacing an old laptop that had screen issues? Did you receive it before Christmas day 2016?

My dad bought it for me as a Christmas gift.

Cool. Can you answer these questions about the laptop your dad bought you as a Christmas gift?

Is this laptop an Alienware?

Was it $1400?

Was it slightly used?

Was it replacing an old laptop that had screen issues?

Did you receive it before Christmas day 2016?

What happened, Nathan? You were so quick to deny saying you bought that laptop, why so quiet now?

How the hell do I get money to actually do things, when I can't even afford to pay for my own transportation? How the hell do I get a career that is relevant to my major, when I will be passed up due to my lack of experience and that I am not "diverse" enough to meet their quota (as well as schoolwork taking up almost all of my time.

You're autistic, you're a recipient of diversity quotas and generally have a better chance of holding down the job. Once you have that, cash problems disappear.

Fucking saaaame. I hate that I relate to you so much rn, :/ I've kinda learned to accept that by just knowing it doesn't matter, it doesn't matter if I become a homeless bum or become or the fucking president, we all get the same prize in the end, death. And I can skip right to that whenever I want. So I'll just sit here and daydream, watch youtube, and eat cake for breakfast until my mom dies or I just don't feel like living anymore.

Good luck making it out of whatever you're going through.

I dont think @JimCarrysToe is the clubbing type, and even if she really is a girl looking for a boyfriend, I highly doubt she would like me.
