We can do all 20 from the main game, no spinoffs

-Main crew: 9 playables, Zack, Sephiroth
-Turks: Rude, Reno, Elena, Tseng
-Shinra Corporation: Rufus, Hojo, Palmer, Heidegger, and... Reeve, who was apparently in a contest before (but why...)

bam, 20 from the main game without needing to touch spinoffs. Palmer and Heidegger would be only new contest entrants... so yeah, maybe scrap them in favour of Cissnei and Genesis for more Crisis Core representation. And then replace Reeve with Shelke for proper Dirge rep.

Don't we already have 13 guaranteed to return in XXI? Rufus dodged the boots I believe. So, just need to get 7 more in there...

Because Reeve is better than Cait Sith, whom hardly anyone actually likes? Reeve got dealt kinda a bad deal when he got into the contest; he definitely would do better overall than Hojo would. He is basically a defacto playable character, since he's Cait Sith's actual mind and all basically. Tseng wouldn't do anything either, wasted spot.

I mean, is there an unstated pre-requisite that any nominated character needs to be someone you either fight as or fight against?

If the concern is (LR spoilers) character overlap/duplication, it's moot because Reeve is as distinct from Cait Sith as Lumina is from Lightning

i'm basically with Drak on Cait/Reeve. there's already a lot of characters i like and never get a chance to save, they'd just be two more on that list.

They are even the same being. There is no excuse for Lumina being allowed here. She is literally Clair Farron. She is not in anyway an independent. Shes a mental disorder of Claire, not a character

I was banking on start happening after the bracket closes, 7pm+ start time. Which would be great! Not to mention the return of 4th hour...
