The soapstones absorb the heat of your whisky, so they lose temperature for your drink extremely quick (<25 minutes) Wtick with neat, a big rock of ice, or a dram of water depending on your proofing (higher ethanol level whiskys benefit more from water due to booziness potentially diluting those underlying armoas and flavors) I (for better or for worse) know far too much about alcohol given my career as a professional brewer.
