So I'm replaying Pokemon X but as a Nuzlocke run to bide my time until Smash comes out. I wound up in a surprisingly difficult double battle. I tried to sacrifice an Oddish to outplay the double Furfrou but that was in vain. By the end, my Doduo, Litleo and Bulbasaur were defeated. Only Beedrill and Froakie (now Frogadier) survived.

It sucks because I really wanted to use those guys but they're dead now. I was also planning on subbing out Froakie for a different water type but I guess I have to keep him now. At least I was still able to get Snorlax.

Field Pokemon like Snorlax and legendaries aren't usually considered valid for nuzlocke runs unless they're required for progress a la black/ white version.

Also I know exactly the battle you're referring to and it was such BS for that point in the game.

I did some Googling, catching or beating Snorlax is up to the player's discretion.

Hmm. And his route has no grass before it, so I guess it works.

Kinda ridiculous how strong a Pokemon they are for... Before the second gym, I believe?

Nuzlocke rules are up to the player in the end anyways. The community doesn't even follow the original rule set up by Nuzlocke himself, so it's honestly whatever.

If I can't use some of my favorite mons, like Snorlax, then I wouldn't want to Nuzlocke, but I can see the case against legendaries.

The original rules are you have to kill all legendaries but obviously BW would make an exception because you literally can't progress without doing so.
