I am having trouble getting into the Witcher 3 so far. Only did a couple of things but the turning seems super fast and weird. The combat system seems weird. I am spending most of my time with no health. And I don't seem to get xp for killing shit. I oopsed and bought a bunch of diagrams with all my money and I don't know how to gain money so it was probablt a bad idea.

And it says hold LT to compare gear but anytime I do it shows me the comparison for like 2 seconds before going to a different page full of stuff.

as for making back your money, you can always go hunt some wolves for their pelts and pick up herbs to sell to merchants

but the majority of your money should come from selling looted gear later in the game

also don't forget to upgrade your skills as you level up, and stick to one style if you want an easier time, which means if you just want to cut people/monsters to pieces then focus on that tree, and if you want to be a Jedi then focus on that signs

I feel like I have countless herbs because I just went around for like 30 mins getting them before I realized they just give it to you like candy.

sell that stuff to the merchants that sell you herbs, merchants give you more money for things they are selling (so the blacksmith isn't going to be paying you top dollar for wolvesbane because he has no idea wtf it is)

I couldn't get into Witcher 3. I gave it a shot, I played through the first area past the prologue, but it never really clicked with me and now it's just sitting on my hard drive with a bunch of other games in my backlog.

I've been playing Dragon Quest XI, though. I think that's nearly done, and right on time for RDR, which in turn is right on time from when I'll be recovering from anesthesia.

yes, if you take stuff when the game says you are about to steal, then the guards will come after you and they will be like +10 levels ahead of you so you better haul ass or you will get killed and your gold taken

you can loot anything that doesn't get flagged as stealing though, so you can go into someone's house and take all their cheese and fish if you want

oh and when bartering with those damn farmers for contracts, don't pity them ever, save before bartering and take every penny they are worth because those assholes will not show you an ounce of gratitude most of the time

I did one quest. Some drunk ass fucker who couldn't walk burnt down a house. He begged for pity. Said he was only drunk. I said I don't give one shit. Off to the blacksmith you go. That dude had no fucking mercy and they hung him on the spot without even a trial. I felt it was a bit much, but a crime is a crime and he needed to be punished.

I'm a fucking moron. Went to buy food cuz I am broke. I see bananas are 3 each. I buy 3 of them with my 19 silver. I buy them. I realize... oops no I just fucking sold them. Click them back to return to my inventory. Nope. I just bought 1 at full price. Now I got 1 moniez left and only 1 banana instead of 3. Fucking game.

I have 9 waters. I didn't realize they heal the same as food. I just gotta figure which dpad button let's me use it on the quick tab. Up is food. left and right is sheath. Which leaves down for the middle and down slot on the quick access. Yeah, I don't get that at all.

Killed the Griffin and got my girl yennefer. Did all the stuff back there besides monster nests because I can't make the bombs to do them.

I am level 5. Leveling seems mighty slow. They are just throwing tons of quests at me from level 4-37. I still can't destroy monster nests.

I free'd a point of interest earlier. I looted the enemy I killed to free it and the people started freaking out. And ran like 4 miles to finally kill me. I lost like 400 crowns due to that. Like wtf.

I have a ton of junk in my inventory. I don't know if I should sell it or dismantle it. Of course dismantling it costs a ton of money also. Can't find a new silver sword anywhere.

Level 6. Finally found a new silver sword. Couldn't kill this werewolf in this basement because he outheals my damage. Maybe this new silver sword will help. Plus I was able to add the next level of improved quick slashes. This tree dude asked me to help save him. Pretty sure he is some sort of demon but fuck it. He deserves some fresh air.

make sure to coat your swords with the appropriate oils and coatings if you are having trouble fighting a certain enemy and IIRC werewolves are weak to fire as well (you can read their bestiary entry to get a better idea of their weaknesses)

if you have the GOTY version I think you'll be able to get really good witcher gear later on so don't worry about getting good swords if you can't find any, most swords work fine for the main story
