Not necessarily the movie itself, you can like what you like, I just mean the character... his only function was to make a dragon ball show up, essentially.

The movie was bad too. Why did they nerf Quicksilver?

Yeah, AoU was the tipping point for me between watching every MCU movie and only watching the ones that really interested me. Dude was a goddamn joke compared to his comic status and yes, I get it, it's not the comics, but it was like reducing the super special secret extra boss down to that annoying midgame boss that might take an extra 20 minutes of grinding in terms of power.

Avengers 1 tipped the scales for me.

MCU Quicksilver is actually closer to what the character actually is.

Fox Quicksilver, while fun, is closer to DC's Flash than he is comic Quicksilver.

To put it in perspective, in the comics, Quicksilver moves at the speed of sound, Flash moves close to the speed of light.

The phase of movies leading up to it were fine, but they failed to really move us toward the movie itself, unlike what we saw with Phase 1. Then the movie ramped up a last-minute-sorta conflict that's resolved so fast that you're left thinking "Wait, how is this an 'age?'" The following Captain America and seasons of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D did more to service the aftermath, but the film just felt weak as a whole. If it wasn't for the aftermath where so many people died and actions were eventually taken for another reason down the road, I'd say that Avengers 2 failed to raise the stakes at all.

Also, yes, Ultron itself was kinda... meh. Both in design and execution.
