part of my disinterest in Supergirl has always been the incredibly weak cast beyond J'onn, but now suddenly there's a bunch of people I like! easily the biggest boost in the show and is why I could always tolerate Flash's missteps because I like its characters... and why it was so easy for me to drop Arrow before finishing s4 because I just didn't like the people remaining

it's also part of why Legends is best show

i got a mega man x "official complete works" artbook and i'm loving inafune's love of Zero and I'm only up to X3

X1:

"Usually, I would be the one doing the main characters, and Kaji would take care of the sub characters. This time, however, we decided to change things up a bit. I asked Kaji to do Mega Man, and I made the sub character, Zero, my project. I'm sure I've said this in many different places in more than a few different ways, but I really wanted Zero to be a playable character. I wanted to offer a 'different Mega Man', and possibly a more hardcore game." (Inafune)

"I wanted to make the character's personality a little more hardcore too, and I knew that if I was working from the design of the traditional Mega Man, I'd be stuck in that whole 'nice guy' image. The whole time I was designing Zero, I was seeing him as the 'new Mega Man'. But I didn't bring that up when I went to submit our designs to my boss. I brought out the X that Kaji designed and said, 'Here's the new Mega Man!' My boss had a verry positive reaction to X, and when I brought out the design for Zero, I simply said, '... and this is the sub character.' ... hrm, just realizing that setting up the SMSB contestants list isn't as straight-forward a task as I expected

since now I'm questioning the inclusion / separation of alts

first when I got to Ice Climbers I wasn't sure about calling them Ice Climbers or individually as Popo & Nana but I just left it as is

then I got further down the list and it became what about Pokemon Trainer vs Charizard/Ivysaur/Squirtle... and if Charizard/Ivysaur/Squirtle, why not also individually Pokemon Trainer Red and also Pokemon Trainer Green

Olimar adds Alph... pikmin not necessary

Villager I figure is fine to still group together as it's all the same canonical person

... Wii Fit Trainer is similar but actually questionable as you choose between if you want the Male Trainer or Female Trainer in the Wii Fit games... so they do have some autonomy

... but then I get to Rosalina and I remember her actual entry is... Rosalina & Luma.... so include Luma? but then Luma feels the same as Pikmin validity, although Pikmin at least aren't named... UNTIL YOU REALIZE JAPANESE PUT HIM DOWN AS PIKMIN & OLIMAR OHNOES WHAT ABOUT PIKMIN VARIATIONS... I suppose Pikmin are kinda like a race entry like Pikachu counts for male & female pikachus and lucha pikachus so that's fine, and Pikmin is just listed as Pikmin anyhow

Mii Fighter / Mii Gunner / Mii Swordsman at this point is obvious

Robin is still the same case as Villager

I'd say there's more reason to split up male/female Robin/Corrin than Villager/Wii Fit Trainer. In their games they're significantly different characters due to having completely different supports. Gives people a stronger reason to want to play as (and thus save) one over the other.
