I have only seen people using that as a meme. I have yet to see a single person seriously saying that.

And could you tell me who in your life said that? Maybe 1 person on tumblr said that, but rightists drastically exagerate how common it is... and I only heard it as a meme.

This, but it was third person, someone white knighting with a "did you just assume their gender".

Just like with "we need a safe space" and "that triggers me". People with short term memory loss think they were always used in mockery, forgetting that there was first a time when they were used in earnest.

My point is not that it never happened, it's that it seems to rare that I don't get why society politicize something like that

its like when it first became a thing lots of lgbt and college crybabies said it seriously with the intent to make it an actual offense in society

but then the reactionary meme makin fun of it took all the steam out of that agenda
it became a common western joke for a while

i don't hear it much anymore tho
only people i notice still using it with a straight face are fringe extremists lookin for safe spaces

Not in real life, I don't associate with those kind of people.

But I do know that it's not really a meme, it's a fucking guideline the trans community has and they aren't shy about letting others know.

It was a very minor social issue and eventual meme that's already ran its course.

Forget about it.

I was at college when it "became a thing" and I've barely seen anybody act like rightists claimed all college LIBRULS act.
