Can't really recommend any originals in those categories, but Criminal Minds is on Netflix and is probably my favorite Crime/Cop show.

For the historical ones, you have Medici, Borgia (both Renaissance Italy), The Last Kingdom (9th century Saxons), Marco Polo (mostly in Asia), The Tudors (15th century England), Versailles (17th century France), Reign (15th century... Scotland I think?), and probably lots of others. If you wanna go really far back, it has The History Channel's "The Bible" mini-series, which had really good reviews iirc. Haven't watched enough of these series to know which ones to recommend, so just choose by setting, I guess.

As for detective/thrillers, I think most of Marvel's Netflix Originals feature that, especially Jessica Jones and Daredevil. Haven't watched those either though.

Why the hell hasn't anyone said Mindhunter?

@completeboy, this is literately what you want. Netflix original, it's a fantastic show, it's based on the real story of John E. Douglas as an FBI Criminal Profiler, one of the very first. He's who Jack Crawford is based off of. He helped catch a few high profile serial killers.

Honestly, this is what you want.

Yep, this was my first thought when I saw the topic.

Amazing show. Very Zodiac/Seven in style but that's no surprise with Fincher producing

compared to that the prisoners was better but if that is like zodiac then it should be really interesting

The Last Kingdom (9th century Saxons)

Coming in to recommend this. Since it's a Netflix original from a global standpoint.

The Tudors (15th century England), Reign (15th century... Scotland I think?)

Recommend these as non originals. Reign is about Mary Queen of Scots and during her time in France primarily.

Requiem fits all of your criteria. It's about a young lady who finds herself in this small town while trying to investigate her mom's death. A guy offers to let her stay at the castle he just inherited. And she slowly starts to learn about the town and the horrible things that have happened there. It's like a crime/detective drama series but also horror too because there's quite a bit of supernatural stuff.

Very well done show, IMO. I loved every second of it.

Also this. Loved the atmosphere in this one.

I think this is the most underrated original on Netlifx.

Another suggestion is Bloodline, although the last season is a huge drop off in quality from 1 and 2.

That is exactly what it is. It's 80% thriller/mystery and 20% horror/sci-fi. And the horror part isn't all about jumpscares and shit, but it's still enough to freak you out a bit. It's well done.

i see thanks for the clarification

Wild Wild Country - it's a documentary about the Rajneeshpuram in Oregon, probably one of the best documentaries I've ever seen.

Flint Town - Another documentary series, about the police force in Flint, MI over the span of 2016 as they deal with a new mayor, the water crisis and the election.

Silver Spoon () - Not quite a Netflix original but I don't think they have it on Amazon. It's a Russian drama about the son of an oligarch who winds up pissing his dad off and getting forced into working for the police force. It starts off hokey but it has a lot of emotional moments in it, some good action, policing, comedy and drama. So friggin' good.

Person of Interest - Also not a Netflix original, but I have to recommend it just because of how deep and outstanding the plot is. The entire show has that feeling of generic CBS crime drama (a la CSI, Criminal Minds), especially moreso in the first couple seasons, since that's what the network heads wanted. But it really has an intriguing story to it.
