Full Throttle 08/14/18 1:06:31 AM #1:	Would you vote for this kid to be governor? - Results (10 votes) Yes 30% (3 votes) 3 No, i would if he was a Republican but not a Democrat 0% (0 votes) 0 No, i'd rather a more experienced Democrat 30% (3 votes) 3 No, i'd rather a more experienced Republican 40% (4 votes) 4 14 y/o Ethan Sonneborn, one of the 4 Vermont DEMOCRATS running for GOVERNOR and seeking the nomination this fall isn't old enough to vote or drive but he met the requirements to be on the primary ballot taking place with the state's more age appropriate candidates..and he says he has a lot of more practical PROGRESSIVE ideas for the democrats!! He said "I think Vermonters should take me seriously because i have practical progressive ideas and i happen to be 14, not the other way around. I think that my message and my platform transcend age." The Vermont constitution doesn't have an age requirement for people seeking the state's highest office beyond having lived in the state for 4 years before the election. That oversight by the founders more than 225 years ago was enough to encourage teens to collect signatures needed to put him on the ballot as Robert F Kennedy was the politician who inspired him. He grew frustration with the state and national politics and after Charlottesville, his gut reaction was to do something about it. He raised over 1700 smackers, not enough to make him competitive for ads, mail, staff and other political expenses but he's doing it for the experience. Other canddiates include former Utility executive Christine Hallquist, the first TRANSGENDER political candidate as well as James Ehlers, an environmentalist and Brenda Siegal, a dance festival organizer. Current Governor, Phil Scott said people should look at whos running for office and took a dig at Ethan who said people should be able to get their DRIVER'S LICENSE first before becoming governor as he's facing businessman, Keith Stern.
