This could be true actually. At least, in the 2nd game this was definitely how it was for Haku. He has a bit more narration in the 3rd game because of the demands of the story, but even then I feel like it might still have been slightly less than is typical. It might just be the style of these particular writers.

(I never read the VN for the original story, in case I didn't directly say that before)

Chios School Road ep6 - XFD Kushitori aka Kabaddi girl. She embraces the ass as the ultimate body part. Second part with Chio and Manana was funny too. Dont think there has been an episode where I havent laughed a couple times

It's been a great year for comedy.

oops got caught up on the Citrus manga faster than I expected

I appreciate the manga's faster pace, though it still circles around things more than I'd like. The post-anime arcs are mostly pretty good. The one with Harumin's sister was silly (what does she even do? How can she just hang out at her old high school for couple weeks? Is she not in university? Does she not have a job?), but the content was good, and it was nice that the relationship really started to progress there. Shirapon arc was great. Every chapter there was entertaining. Final arc is kinda being handled well, though it's disappointing in that Mei's not showing much growth here. Mei's kinda been getting better at solving things as the series has progressed, but here she just does nothing, and it looks like Yuzu's going to do everything herself again (well, Yuzu+friends, but no Mei). It'd be nice if there were an arc about their difficulties beyond external influences. A couple chapters in the future. Eh. The part where she found out her friends were homophobes was good at least, though it could've been longer.

It's usually not, other than a couple scenes.

A bit of an extreme example, but that's like saying that From the New World is ecchi beacause of the hilariously awful ecchi manga adaptation.

I feel like I can just hand Chio comedy of the year. Nothing else is even close and so far nothing in the seasons ahead looks like it could be as funny, but well see I guess

I think Asobase is very clearly better, but I know it's not your thing! And Chio is obviously amazing. Like I said, great year for comedy.

Gonna be a stiff fight at the end of the year.

Compared anime to anime, not mobile games. Franxx probably getting more doujins than any other anime this year so far

Watched episode 6 of Asobi, still very very fun. And then since I was on a roll with comedy, decided to check out this Chio one that was being talked about.

Ehhhhhhh it was fine, cute in some scenes and others were kind of meh to me. Is the first episode a standout and it's just not for me or does it get better? I mean I could kind of tell from the opening, but I'm not a fan of fanservice-y things like exaggerated boob physics and all of that, turns me off. If that's where a lot of the comedy comes from then it just might not be for me.

First half was pretty weak in general. Kabadi joke doesn't work so well twice. That repeated shot followed about 30 seconds of reshowing and REPEATING scenes from the first Kabadi episode, too.

Second half was aces, though. Manana is seriously incredible.

I'd say the first episode (and the first segment of the most recent episode) are the 'bad' parts of Chio in that they were noticably padded in ways that other segments weren't. I thought all the other episodes were way better.

I mean yeah, those were literally the only two bad Chio segments. Everything else is amazing. First episode isnt even really bad, just in retrospective. Manana makes this show.

EDIT: to clarify, I mean the first episode and the first half of this one. The first Kabadi segment is hilarious.

Binge watched My Hero Academia over the last week based on a recommendation. Hulu stops the dub at the end of Season 2 and only has sub for Season 3. Is Season 3 not dubbed yet? I don't like watching subs as I tend to multi-task when watching.

Are we seeing streaming numbers yet, because as much of a push this season supposedly got, I'm still running into people who didn't realize it was airing.

Guess there were just that many people who watched that first season that don't regularly keep up with anime. Very interested to see Crunchy put out their chart for this season.

Some English viewers might just be waiting for it to air weekly on Adult Swin/Toonami? I mean not everybody uses the anime streaming services. This VRV one seems kinda new, but the description it had made me wonder if it was even legal because it sounds like they just take everything from Funimation or Crunchy or whatever and put it all in one place, but Crunchy has been advertising it so there must be more to it I guess

VRV is owned by the same company that owns crunchy
