Played a Rogue today who had over 30 durability on a single Spectral Cutlass, though not all at once obviously. Guy played Pick Pocket x5 twice, and then got a Chittering Tunneler from one of them which ended up being another Pick pocket x5. Almost ran him into fatigue before he played Academic Espionage, and even after that I still took him into fatigue, I just managed to get there three turns earlier and I finally lost at six or seven fatigue damage when he still had a 5/6 weapon in play.

In hindsight, I'm not sure how I managed to survive as long as I did.

I tried playing Shudderwock when the expansion dropped, but it just wasn't very good.

I've said it before but the way you play around a Shudderwock deck is by playing around Volcano and lightning storm, since it was really mostly a control deck.

Know what plays around Volcano pretty good? Devilsaur Eggs, which are all over ladder right now. Also Boommaster Flark which everyone was experimenting with the first couple days.

Faster combo decks have also always beaten shudderwock. You generally need to draw your whole deck, and Shaman does that slower than other classes.

If everyone stops running egg decks and turbo combo decks, and goes back to running easy-to-beat decks like Odd Rogue, then Shudderwock can make a comeback. But last I tried it didn't seem very well positioned in the meta.

Well like I said, now it's a tempo deck, like this

### Shudderwock Shaman
# Class: Shaman
# Format: Standard
# Year of the Raven
#
# 2x (1) Fire Fly
# 2x (1) Lightning Bolt
# 2x (1) Unstable Evolution
# 1x (2) Prince Keleseth
# 1x (3) Electra Stormsurge
# 1x (3) Gluttonous Ooze
# 2x (3) Lightning Storm
# 2x (3) Mind Control Tech
# 2x (3) Tar Creeper
# 2x (4) Hex
# 2x (4) Saronite Chain Gang
# 2x (5) Fungalmancer
# 2x (5) Giggling Inventor
# 1x (5) Thrall, Deathseer
# 2x (7) Corridor Creeper
# 1x (8) Hagatha the Witch
# 1x (8) Kalimos, Primal Lord
# 1x (8) The Lich King
# 1x (9) Shudderwock

So it turns out that you don't need to OTK with Shudderwock to win, usually a strong battlecry heavy turn will win a lot against control, as best case scenario they really can't do much against a bunch of Giants (or a turn 5 double creeper into Thrall)

RDU just hit rank 1 legend on Asia (with maly druid).

He proceeded to buy packs until he could craft Golden Whizbang.

And then Queued up for a game with Whizbang at rank 1 legend.

And won a match with one of the shaman decks.

Now he's gonna play APM Priest or more Whizbang.

The memes are not dreams anymore.

Edit: He says he's going to play Whizbang until he loses. Then he'll hit rank 1 again before more memes.

@metroid_composite, this should answer your question as to why I never, ever play Ultimate Infestation with 6 or more cards in hand.

Oh, well yeah, when you're playing togwaggle druid and don't have your combo pieces you should never burn cards.

When I advised you to ultimate infestation you were on spiteful summoner not togwaggle. The only card in Spiteful you wouldn't want to burn is maybe spiteful, but you had already drawn both UIs, so burning spiteful would be fine.

Yeah but only to a point. The issue is that combo has become so good against everything but aggro that they can heavily tech for the matchup without really losing ground to other ones.

Oh Control Warlock is probably favored against all Druids, especially with Demonic Project, and I think Control Mage can get out of Burst range of Maly Druid

They just struggle really hard against the sticky Deathrattle decks (especially Hunter) and the combo decks out there, I think even with Project if the combo players are smart they can try to go around it

Bsm loses to like every combo deck and most other control decks. Its really good match up is even warlock. Its not even favored over taunt Druid.

Control warlock basically has a small niche of being able to mess up combo with project but even can do that too and pressure more.

Mecha'thun Priest is cool, but it's not good.

Quest Paladin

I mean, Lynessa honestly can be a little bit degenerate if you're up against someone without silence or kill spells.

Like...if you run a mostly control shell, with only four buffs in your deck (sound the bells x2 used to combo with Wild Pyromancer, and Spikeridge Steed x2 used to make taunts) then you get a...13/29 Lynessa that deathrattles into two more taunts.

For example, Taunt Druid that just summoned a full board with Hadronox likely will STILL not even have enough power on board to kill that even if they attack with their full board.

(Galvadon itself is not very impressive though. Like...oh man, an 8/8 windfury that summons some plants when it dies. That's just not that scary on turn 10).

Don't forget that you combo Zola with Lynessa if you can.

Galvadon is more of a very slow finisher - get stealth, windfury, and try to get boosts to attack. Can get a pretty consistent 16 damage out of him, and is immune to any targeted removal.

Another great non-degenerate deck is Tess Rogue :)

I mean, I assume they used their naturalize on Hadronox, or, you being built more like a control Paladin list that you used Skulking Geist to kill their naturalizes.

But yes, don't let your Lynessa get Naturalized.

If a deck isn't running either of those things, that's honestly their problem. Very few decks don't have some form of single target removal, by necessity.

And I don't think labeling Lynessa as degenerate just because she can be situationally powerful is fair. To be degenerate, IMO, something has to be broken in a way that there's virtually no way to deal with it for the majority of decks. Mecha'thun priest is the sort of deck that strikes me as degenerate, because all it does is remove and survive while cycling its deck, which includes two Psychic Screams for board clears that dilute your opponent's ability to agress, and then plays the last 5 cards in its hand to win instantly. Unless you can mess with their hand or play some oddball cards like Mana Wraith or The Beast, your only recourse is to hack through a deck full of defensive tools and healing (including Amara) to kill them first.
