Maybe because it is easier to switch out CD's containing 20 or so songs, than it is to cycle through 100's of songs on a single disc?

Because CDs/DVDs/blurays are fragile pieces of shit and only someone nostalgic would prefer a CD over a superior in every way 200 gb phone.

Because CDs only hold several hundred MB, whereas you can buy a card or drive with dozens or hundreds of times that space for relatively cheap.
