And not really since Mami is more of Sakura's rival if anything. It's only the movie that really makes Sayaka and Sakura rivals and, even then, it's purely because Sayaka manages to hold on to just enough memories of Sakura's selfishness as she ripped Madoka from the heavens and became a demon to be able to hate her with undying hatred. If she ever loses that memory, that hatred, for even a second the two will cease being rivals as Sayaka will no longer hate Sakura and even that fate memory of Sakura being a demon will be wiped away. It's only the movie that really makes Sayaka and Sakura rivals and, even then, it's purely because Sayaka manages to hold on to just enough memories of Sakura's selfishness as she ripped Madoka from the heavens and became a demon to be able to hate her with undying hatred. If she ever loses that memory, that hatred, for even a second the two will cease being rivals as Sayaka will no longer hate Sakura and even that fate memory of Sakura being a demon will be wiped away. It's also very unclear if Sayaka can even do anything to oppose Sakura since Sakura seems to be able to dismiss Octavia on a whim and her ring lacked her name which may indicate that Sayaka, though a magical girl, no longer has any powers of any kind.</quote> Yeah I know that's why I said they don't really count.</quote> ...
