Who do you consider the victims of drug addiction? Because you certainly have no empathy for the addict themselves who have a disease. All you want to do is throw them in prison or jail.

Do you literally only care about the people around the addict and not the addict themselves?

I'd say he cares about the addicts because he wants to take action to take down the supply lines that addicts are vulnerable to. People who protect these dealers can get thrown under the bus as they don't care who else gets hurt in pursuing their fix.

I thought they went to prison for possession, not usage.

You have to posses it to use it. It's not like it magically appears in their veins.

Let's put it this way: You use heroin, you OD, the people with you get rid of all the heroin and paraphernalia before the authorities show up, what happens?

What's the legal charge?

Well, what I'm wondering is.....Demi Lovato admitted to being addicted to heroin. And she has even gone to rehab.

Now, I'm not a wealthy celebrity....I actually live in the real world.....so I'm not sure exactly how this works.

Upon admitting her problem, were the authorities involved in any way? Can you just walk into a rehab clinic with no questions asked? Can the police walk into rehab clinics and ask people questions about the drugs they took, where they got them? What is the name and address of their dealers, etc?

Because, the way I see it, being a rational human being.........if cops did that, and people REFUSED to cooperate, they'd be aiding and abetting.

Has anyone even asked where Demi Lovato was getting her heroin from? Because I don't think anyone has asked that. And I find that pretty strange.

Yes you can go to rehab for illegal drugs and not get arrested. I know a woman who did this. Wasn't cheap but her family pooled money together to help her out. Think she said it cost 16k for her.

Going to rehab is showing you are trying to stop doing it so they aren't going to punish you for that.

Doesnt work that way in the US

You have the right to remain silent and not self incriminate. You dont have to say anything to the police or investigators.

We have those rights as well. But it didn't stop a cop from lying to get information from you.

I dont even remember a cop getting information from me

My sister's been a heroin addict for like 3 or 4 years and she still hasn't landed in jail, unfortunately.

Where is she getting her heroin from? Because THAT person should be in jail.

Once again, all the attention on the user, not the supplier.

And the users protect the suppliers, so the users are guilty by default.

You don't have to be a celebrity to be rich, which is the real differential here.

I don't think she's getting it from any one person, she's gets it from all over the place. Heroin addicts stoop to pretty low levels to get their fix. We're pretty sure she's restored to prostitution at times and she'll also get back together with her abusive ex-lover who's also a user and probably started her on it to get her fix. I only say she should be in jail cause at least then she wouldn't be able to use for a substantial amount of time and maybe could get clean. Unfortunately when you live in a fucked up area like Cleveland, they really don't give a shit.

He wants addicts who don't incriminate themselves and others to be arrested and put in jail. That doesn't sound very caring to me.
