I studied at a Catholic school. So most of our teachers were old nuns or middle-aged women. No men. They were very, very strict. No warmth on their person at all.
So when we finally got a younger teacher who was so lively and fun, we loved her classes and worked hard to learn from her. --- "Ladies don't start fights, but they can finish them." -Marie, Aristocats ... Copied to Clipboard!

Maybe you might consider whether older teachers tended to share their life experience or maybe younger teachers might have been easier to relate to. What did you think? Umm... do people actually think like that? Our teachers were just... there. Do the lesson and move on. No better or worse than a Doctor or a Clerk --- "Salt cures Everything!" Younger, easily.
I remember my 9th grade English teacher, real crone. I never got in huge trouble with her, but my dad actually got yelled at by her at a parent teacher conference for saying she looked like a catholic nun. Then there was my 10th grade Spanish teacher, Ms. Areola. I would constantly refer to her as "nipple lady" (or seora del pezn since this was Spanish). Older, more knowledgeable in their fields I suppose, so more to gain by talking to them. At least for the science subjects. Incidentally also gymnastics/sports, the older teachers understood and accepted (and could properly motivate) my physical limitations, the younger ones, not so much.

Those between their 30s and 40s. Some of the younger ones showed their inexperiences and had poor classroom management. The ones that were older than 50 were cranky and just waiting for their retirement.

Older, definitely. Talked more, were nicer, friendlier, funnier. Young teachers tried too hard to be cool.

I had good and bad for both. It was more about their attitude. Had a physics teacher who was lively and interesting. On the other hand was biology and she sounded like Ben Stein while giving lessons.

The best teachers I had were older. My favorite one was younger, but they were like 1 of 2 exceptions. I much prefered the instruction and class environment provided by older teachers.

I preferred younger teachers in grade school.
Toss up in high school. Preferred older teachers in college. Above all, I loved the ones who were knowledgeable, understood certain bullshit, and could relate to the students. I've had genuine younger and older teachers as well as despicable younger and older teachers. Really kinda difficult to generalize this one, but I tried. --- Working in a team is great!
