30 y/o Supergirl's, Melissa Benoist headed to Comic-Con over the weekend to introduce the CW's new superhero for the series..and it's a 21 y/o TRANSGENDER actress named Nicole Maines who will be joining the series and will be the first trans superhero!!..

Fellow cast members Katie McGrath, Mehcad Brooks, David Harewood and new cast member Jesse Rath were on the panel with the new surprise guest who has joined the series after 2 cast members departed last season.

Chris Wood who played Mon-El and Jeremy Jordan who played Winn exited the series in the third season finale.

Nicole will play Nia Nel, aka the Dreamer. The actress was a regular on Royal Pains who wore a floral cop to the panel and will make history as the first transgender superhero on TV. Her character is described as a "soulful young transgender woman with a fierce drive to protect others, Nia's journey this season means fulfilling her destiny as the superhero dreamer"

Nicole made headlines in 2015 who has a TWIN brother named Jonas as opened up their lives to the world after one revealed they were transgender.

Nicole, born Wyatt said she knew she was a girl since she was 3 and since then was transitioning to a female and took hormones and underwent reassignment surgery to physically become a female. The New York twins were adopted at birth by a couple who struggled to have children as they, along with Jonas were very supportive of her decision to become a woman.

Nicole will head to Vancouver soon to start shooting for Season 4 of the show which now airs on Sundays along with the Charmed Reboot.
