Here's one that just barely managed to make the list, do to Chihiro not quite being and LGBT, but rather just a boy who dresses exclusively as a female do to his "weak complex." Still, he was included due to fitting outside of heteronormativity.

Though Dangan Ronpa isn't really a series I see myself ever playing, I can sympathize with Chihiro. His struggles with being expected to be tough as a young boy is something I feel like a lot of growing boys go through. Thought he visually doesn't seem to stand out from the average visual novel character (to me anyway), his abilities as a programmer are pretty impressive.

funny thing is that was years ago and I did completely forget about it so Chihiro's reveal was still a surprise

in my interaction with the fandom (granted, that's mostly on tumblr) I think the majority opinion is he's fully trans

That's not how I read it but I can see where they'd come from and boy do people on both sides (....again, on tumblr) get touchy about it

Chihiro was my favorite, and chapter 2 absolutely devastated me. Before the reveal he was my "waifu"(Not that I take such things very seriously) and after the reveal... he was still waifu because gender can't get in the way of love baby!

Celeste has a notabley amazing VA.

DR1 is such a strange case because everyone is fine EXCEPT the 3 most prominent characters. Byakuya has the worst VA in the series other than the obvious DR2 one.

It's not that he has a bad VA. It's that he was given stupid VA direction. This chapter shows that he has range, he was just told not to use it.
