Slowly progressing...expanding the map, finding items and shrines. Only dancer, cleric, and apothecary jobs left to find. Slaying everything with my lopsided party of Hannit, Therion, Olberic and Ophelia. Unstoppable force.

Primrose is an entertaining story but it's like they just copy/pasted only the Inigo Montoya parts from Princess Bride.

Alfyn's chapters have interesting moral conflicts and intrigue.

They tell me not to distribute the levels but nuts to that I've got OCD to take care of.

Everyone is at 30 now or above. About to finish my last Chapter 2. Honestly I haven't played in a few days. It might be due to the realization that I likely will not be able to finish the game before Kiwami 2 drops, which then goes into FotNS:Lost Paradise, which then goes into LEGO DC Super Villains. Three guides for me to make and I probably won't finish Octopath until Christmas, so I've kind of let it slide.

man people are right, this game is for newbie JRPG player, I'm just shitting on all these bosses

Starseer is still by far the most difficult boss, though not because of whether if it was well designed. The game actually gives you very few options against magic based enemies and absolutely terrible buff/debuff options for the most part. Physical bosses are pretty simple though. You mercenary buff your party with your merchant and attack debuff with your thief. But magic users pretty much have one true answer, and that's reflect. Though even reflect has a counter, which is this incredibly annoying status effect that nulls every buff/debuff. Considering almost all of your strongest options are buff based, this Starseer bitch puts on the buff null status on like 2 of your key party members, and you've literally already lost. There's no way back.

That being said, either you grind up your magic def so that Shooting Star doesn't literally kill your entire party in a single go, or you just cheese her with leghold trap, dancer ulti, and reflect on your entire party.

Also having said that, I couldn't come up with this strategy on my own. Why? Because the motherfucking description for dancer ult was motherfucking wrong! It says it only applies to skills that affects enemies. Nope, it literally affects any single targeting spell. Now was that hard to describe? No. But without some offbeat testing, I couldn't have figured out that cheese strategy without pure luck, which made this boss battle probably my least favorite experience

But yeah, this game's super easy otherwise. I've always been 5~20 levels below the req except my main character (I beat Starseer with a lvl 50 and a bunch of lvl 35~40 lol)

not there yet but I'm literally causing 3k damage with Primrose and casting spells like firestorm for free thanks to a charm+skills (SP saver and the other one that restore SP every turn) so I'm technically casting spells for free and just destroying everything

Well Starseer has like 140k HP and has a full heal berserk at low hp lol

My Ophilia did over 9k per hit on any elemental attack on top of doing the attack twice in a row, which roughly amounted to 36-40k damage, but I can't get that setup every time because Starseer disables buffs and takes 12 hits to break her shield or 4 dark damage.

She makes literally every other boss in the game look like a joke until you figure out dancer ult affects all single target skill

Therions chapter 3 keeps packing my shit in with his steal SP bullshit. Super frustrating. Alfyn/warrior, Therion/merchant, haanit/dancer, Cyrus/cleric.

it's all about the armor - levels don't mean anything its about what your character is holding, just a tip

I added therion to my party so I could just start stealing weapons after I found out thats the best way to gear people up. So just get better armor? Ive been mostly just stealing weapons... which fees super awkward since Im maiming Alfyn

I soft reset for certain charms (One that restores SP another that restores HP) and other stuff - at this point I'm just casting shit for free and running through bosses. I haven't had any trouble at all and I'm finishing up chapter 4s

You can steal weapons and armor from NPCs. Idk about battles though

Several bosses have equips or nuts IIRC. Basically anything you can refight over and over again does not have any stealable equips although they may have equippable rare drops.
