Pretty fun.

Shit can get mad confusing tho.

Can someone explain to me exactly how the power/energy system works? I never seem to know when I can use my powers.

Also you don't have access to all four powers of a new frame until you level it up to 10. Each time you unlock a new ability it'll pop up on the screen

Yeah. Warframe is one of those games that are really hard to get into because there are just so many fucking mechanics and the waiting to build frames/weapons scares off a lot of people. But if you stick with it it seriously becomes one of the most satisfying games out there bar none, especially since it's free to play and it's actually rather easy to get premium currency through use of the trade chat. Not to mention the developer, Digital Extremes, while they may make questionable decisions from time to time like with the UI, is extremely receptive to feedback and is fast and dedicated to it.

If you have any questions let me know fam.

I've been pretty much addicted to it since I picked it up a few weeks back. I'm in love with the game.

Energy management is usually handled through mods. You'll eventually get some mods to give you more energy and to make your abilities more energy efficient. It takes a bit but energy becomes much less on a issue later.

Generally you want to advance in the star chart/map where you get nodes to do missions. Do more missions > unlock more nodes > unlock more planets that drop different resources > repeat. If you check each planet there is usually a junction that you have to unlock by doing certain objectives. By completing these objectives you unlock rewards as well as pathways to other planets.

On top of that, there are actual quests you can do that you can pick up on the console on the left side of your ship.

As for the energy management issue, it's hard starting out but you basically have to be on the lookout for blue orbs which give energy. Otherwise you're pretty weapon dependent to start out until you get energy restoring mods.

One thing that really helps is getting a sentinel companion and equipping it with the vacuum mod. This makes it pick up stuff for you in a radius meaning you don't have to go as out of your way to pick up energy orbs.

TC the Warframe wiki is your best friend. I started this game months ago and that has been the biggest help to me in learning the mechanics and intricacies of the game. There's a fuck ton to learn but it is really an enjoyable game. I really haven't much of anything else this year since I downloaded it.

At MR4 you can get the Hek. 4 shots but just pure damage and pain in each one. Plus if you can get it's syndicate mod, it becomes a multishot murder tool.

MR5 you get access to the Atomos. It's the secondary version of the Amprex in that you shoot one enemy and it chains to others. Difference is that it has shorter range and less ammo but still a damn good killing machine, especially for a secondary.

MR7 gets you Soma Prime. A lot of newer rifles outclass it nowadays but it's still a pretty good crit dealing bullet hose.

Others to look out for are Zarr at MR7, Lenz at MR8, Ignis Wraith at MR9, Amprex, Akstilleto Prime and Corinth at MR10. There are others but I find these to be the most fun to use as well as devastating.

The mastery grinding system kind of sucks ass but at least the higher you go, the more weapons you get to look forward to and unlock. And let me tell you there are a lot of fun and unique weapons in this game that just blows Destiny's guns out of the water and are just a tad bit better and diverse than Borderland's.

Is there a weapon tier list?
I know in general prime weapons are better, but lots of weapons dont have a prime version and some normals are better than primes right?

And is there ever any point in not leveling something? Is there any content you need max everything for?

What are nodes?
What planets do i do first?
I got a carrier prime, are they still good
What are rivens
How do i get good mods

Tier lists:
http://www.cephalonwannab.com/

It's a bit outdated now, as some weapons in-game aren't on the list at all. And others have been buffed/nerfed since the site's last update, but it's a pretty decent starting point.

1. I assume you're referring to the mission nodes on the planets?
2. Just work your way through the chart. When you hover over the mission node, it should pop up with info about the mission (mission type, enemy faction, etc). One of them has a level range, which indicates the enemy levels you should expect to encounter at the start of the mission. Keep in mind that on endless missions like survival or defense, the enemies will scale up the longer you stay in the mission, and will eventually get beyond the range listed on the chart.
EDIT: You'll start on Earth, then work towards Venus and Mercury before jumping back to go the other direction from Earth. It's fairly straightforward, though, with only a couple short branches. Just keep an eye on enemy level on the mission select screen to know which missions you think you're capable of handling at the moment and get an idea of which order the game intends for you to go.
3. It's pretty good, imo. It all depends on how you mod them, though, like anything else in the game.
4. Rivens are special mods you have a chance to earn from the drop table of the Sortie each day. When you get one, it will tell you which category it falls under (rifle riven, melee riven, shotgun riven, etc). You must then equip it on a weapon of that category and fulfill a challenge listed on the riven to "unveil" it and reveal the specific weapon it is for and the stat bonuses it grants. They can be pretty extreme, such as +200% damage and +150% crit chance, things like that. You can re-roll the stat bonuses using Kuva if you don't like the ones you got, but each riven can only be used on a single specific piece of equipment and that piece won't change no matter how many times you roll it.
5. Grind. Check the wiki for specific mods and see where they drop from or check DE's public drop table. This is the PC drop table: https://n8k6e2y6.ssl.hwcdn.net/repos/hnfvc0o3jnfvc873njb03enrf56.html

Also, if there's a particular mod that you're trying to get but aren't having any luck dropping, it never hurts to ask in the region chat. When I first started I was trying to get a couple mods for my Hek and having awful luck. I mentioned it in the chat and within a minute 3 different people PM'd me and offered to just give me the mod because they had a bunch already. The community really is pretty great overall. One of the best gaming communities I've ever been a part of, tbh. The vast majority of them are incredibly friendly and happy to help new players out.

Yeah. It's hard to make a tier list with weapons because there's just so many factors in this game. Different game modes, different factions with resistances, low/high level enemies, mods/rivens, etc.

Here's a topic discussing "best" weapons. My input is at post 21:

What weapons and frames do yall recommend someone go for first?
I started out with Excalibur from the start and pretty much stuck with him. Easily my favorite frame so far.

I've played a little of Rhino too. I got Trinity Prime free a while back but haven't used her yet. I made Oberon in the foundry recently and I've only played one mission with him.

DE just recently gave out Ash Prime for watching their live feed a week ago or so and I've been playing him since. Real fun frame to play. I think his first abilities are even better than Excalibur. But I have nostalgia for Excalibur as it was Hayden Tenno's suit in Dark Sector.

Prime frames though are tough to get since the components mostly drop from void fissure missions, which you need relics for which you get in excavation missions. And if you want better chances at getting the best possible reward from void fissure missions, you have to refine your relics. Which you need void traces for. Which you get in missions in the Void. So yeah, they're not easy. I got lucky getting two prime frames for free.

Excavations aren't the only places you get relics. You get them in most mission types, but certain relics like Axi only drop in certain missions and certain rotations.

Also, sometimes all you really need is an abundant amount of relics and you can kind of leech off other party member's rewards for better void drops.

Or you can take the side route by farming platinum and buying prime frames. A lot of the prime frames range from 40-150 plat atm

Ive gotten a few relic from standard mission drops. But thats always random. So excavations at least are better chance to get one since you can keep going from drill site to drill site for as long as you want.

As far as using other players I personally am soloing the game. But yeah online players could do that.

How do you farm platnium. All Ive had I bought with USD.

To farm plat you usually either farm valuable mods or relic drops. With the relic drops you can outright sell them in trade chat or turn them into ducats and buy valuable stuff from Baro Kiteer who comes every two weeks. Then sell that valuable stuff in trade chat for plat. If you want to sell though you're gonna have to do a little research on prices so you don't get ripped off

To that end, these two sites are invaluable if you plan to try and trade for platinum:

https://www.wftrader.com/
- Riven trading. You can post what you have on there and people can search for your stuff and then message you in-game to trade with you. Trades must be done in-game.

https://warframe.market/
- Everything non-riven trading. Similar setup to WFTrader, except it's for everything else that's not a riven. And here you can actually post that you're looking to buy things. So if you've got something to sell you can either post it on the site or simply search for people wanting to buy it and message them directly with your offer.

I've personally had some success with wftrader.com already. I've sold a few garbage rivens for 20-30 plat apiece so far. I have a couple of better ones up on there at the moment and I'm asking for a few hundred. No bites on the big ones yet, but it's only been a couple days. That's the beauty of the sites. You post it and then you just move on with your day. If someone wants it, they'll get ahold of you. Trade chat in-game is a joke. Moves way too fast to really catch anything decent and you'll probably sit there and stare at it for a couple hours if you're looking for something specific.

Mods with +damage% affect all damage types from the weapon equipped, including other elemental damage mods, so those should take priority for your loadouts and polarity compatibility. IIRC, the mods are Serration (rifles), Point Blank (shotguns), Hornet Strike (secondary), and Pressure Point (melee).

Elemental mods are another surefire damage source, though all elements (really, all damage types) will have bonuses and weaknesses against different enemies.

The last few mechanics to pay attention to are critical chance, critical damage, and status chance. Weapons with 20+% baseline crit chance are viable contenders for crit builds, and weapons with 25%+ status chance baseline seem to be good for status builds. There's mods that affect all of those, and some mods that have elemental damage + status chance which make for insane status weapons.

For weapons, the only hard rule to follow is to upgrade your MK1-(weapons) to anything else ASAP, and then a general guideline is that the higher MR requirement for a weapon, the better baseline stats. You'll still want to level every weapon, companion, and warframe that you can to 30 to get MR experience.

Rhino is THE newbie-hanging-high-level-frames frame, very tanky, and lasts.

Excalibur is pretty good, but boring after awhile.

If your into melee combat, Valkyr is the queen of it, and very fun to berserk and rip everything apart. She has a interesting background story too.

Some other recommendations (although Idk how hard it is to farm the regular versions now)

Volt. I think you just need to join a clan to pick up the bps for him. Can make the whole team run fast. Can put up a shield that increases gun damage when you shoot through it. Can CC/kill nuke a fairly wide area. Fun fun.

Saryn. Can effortlessly kill in a gigantic range as well as buff your weapon with toxin damage. Has pretty good survivability also with it's Molt augment. My most used frame ever.
