City of Dark Magic: There were a number of twists this could've taken, but time travel drugs was not one I was expecting.

We're listening to The Hobbit in the car :D Been quite a while for me, and Wifebolo has only seen the second movie. We sure do get captured a lot! It's kinda fun to compare the writing style here to LotR, though.

The big driving day was yesterday so we're kinda zonked @_@ Got rear-ended but nobody was hurt and the car didn't take major damage.

And we're back! Trip was pretty great. The driving kinda got to us a bit by the end, but it was all-around quite fun. :D First true vacation I've had in quite some time!

MLP 8-14- Matter of Principals: yessss Discord ep! I like his ideas. :P Good to see all these secondary characters again! And the hello fellow kids meme. ....Also, geeze this escalated quickly!

Nadesico 17- A Reunion That Came Too Late: Whoa, Megumi was a seiyuu! Some interesting character development this episode! Admiral Guy keeps wavering between sympathetic and heel, and the Hikaru/Uri-pea bit was kinda cute without getting into an adultery angle. And we are finally looking into Gai's death! This has been an interesting episode even though nothing really hap- well crap there goes the admiral. Also this episode has a lot about models. Models I think are one of those hobbies that I definitely could have gotten into but never had enough time or money left over to try. ....Ruri episode on deck? Nice.

A Feast for Crows: I like how it's now tradition to kill the PoV character from the prologue.

Lucha 1-21a: Big Ryck is here with some randos to extort some money from Cueto. Oh dang, Mundo/Angelico! Everything I could've wanted in an opener, with Mundo going over. (****) Hey, we finally got some followup on that one girl. Looks like that'll be fun at some point. And Mundo/Patron confrontation hmmmm. Sexy/Superfly/Pentagon wtf kinda team is that? Drago/Aerostar IV is good but ends kinda suddenly with a predictable Drago win. (***1/2)

Sanctuary: Back on the long road. I don't remember the early game being this tricky, but we haven't died yet, and even if we did, that's why we're on softcore now :P

Trails: Hm, we're discussing the culprit's grip on the media in a coffee shop that also serves curry. Seems familiar somehow. Anyway, sewers time! Took out a miniboss. I'm not sure what else there is to do here- I THOUGHT I explored everything I could, but it seems like I'm missing something because the plot hasn't advanced and there are switches and chests I can't reach.

FFC: gettin' pretty tired of cersei. But on the positive side, Masella likes spicy food and board games so she's my new favorite.

City of Dark Magic: I assume we don't ACTUALLY have everything figured out halfway through the book, but it's starting to seem that way!

Trails: Huh, didn't expect to be fighting the other bracer team! Figured they'd put over the Intels while we rematched the Capuas. Was a fun fight. Turns out status quartz are pretty useful, and it's not terrible to use Crafts outside of interrupts!

Nadesico 18- Echoes of Self, Echoes of Water: I was not ready for baby Ruri! I was equally unprepared for how depressing this flashback is. But she theoretically gets to be the princess of Space Themepark Switzerland, so maybe that's a plus! Now I want pizza and pasta, regardless of how poor this ristorante experience has been! I think I'm getting pizza for dinner actually, so that works out nicely. Kinda sucks for Akito though! ....Man, that was a really well executed episode. Not what I thought I was signing up for, but no complaints here. I'm not sure Nadesico always hits all the notes it wants to hit, but it nailed the melancholy of Ruri's backstory.

I went to an overnight flea market last night! Not something I've really done before. Snagged Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires, the first seasons of NCIS and Buffy, and tiny Starfire and Lamb Chop figs. Was a dang good time! There was a buncha fun stuff to see even if I didn't buy all THAT much.

Dynasty Warriors 6 Empires: I don't think this is gonna make it into the regular rotation, but it'll get some play time just for funsies. Li Fi is gonna turn the tides for the Yellow Turbans even if I gave her Zhang He's moveset and it sucks. Dong Zhuo tried to get me to defect, but lol no. We've got about half of China at this point but battles are getting kinda tough at times. We got married to Zhang Bao of all people, and our entourage includes Zhen Ji and Zhang Fei as well. Quite a posse.

FfC: THINGS MIGHT HAPPEN if we let Brienne keep rolling with all this investigating. Also geeze the entire world just exists to dump on her, even her backstory. My tiredness of that is starting to outweigh my desire/hope for her to get a win, especially since that win is like as not to be a relationship with Jamie.

Tarvould's Quest plays Doki Doki Literature Club 1: To recap, DDLC got to the finals in the STEAM BATTLE, and then some of the interface screw started getting to me and I bailed. I feel like adding another layer between myself and the action might mitigate that, and it co-won the poll, so here we are watching an LP instead! The time has come for BOARD8 LOYALTY even though I don't offhand remember who the tarvould guy is here or whether he's one of the ones playing >_> Mostly blind run woooo. Oh no they're reading all the text out loud. Hm, I don't think I realized how nosy Sayori kinda got at the beginning there. Also man, this crew appears unaware of tsundere, so I'm a little sad about the Natsuki reaction. I kinda hope they go for somebody besides Natsuki- she's still my fave but Yuri's growing on me and I'm curious if you can change the plot by going for Sayori. (or Monika but I don't remember that really being possible)

Lucha 1-21b: Cueto buries Havoc and Ivelisse and Angelico, then puts them together in the trios tourney. He's been hanging out with his B8WL incarnation! Mack/Ryck/Killshot kick off the trio tourney against Sexy/Superfly/Pentagon....More B8WLbooking! Pentagon cuts an untranslated promo the crowd seemed to like. Commentary references several wrestlers that I have only heard of through TEW. (Bobo Brazil and Norvell Austin, if you're curious.) Lucha doesn't seem very face/heel, or maybe the booking is just weird. You have an odd couple team fighting a guy coming off a feud against heels, and the one definite heel of the six of them has the most crowd support. Black dudes go over and look good in a solid win. (***)

Pokemon: Dratini freakin' GET. Now we can play the game again! :D

Resident Evil 2 - Extreme Battle Mode: This mode is actually pretty tough. The game is broken down into 3 stages: 1. The Lab, 2. Factory & Sewers, 3. Police Station. It essentially goes in reverse order of the main game. Saving is allowed, although, the limit is 5 saves. This mode is available after the main game is completed, but this mode appears in the PS1 Dual Shock Version, and was not available in the original RE2.

I completed a run with Leon already, although, I had my troubles with certain areas, mainly due to the fact that there are higher enemy counts than the normal game, and, I try my best to conserve ammo for the later portions. That is my play style anyway, to avoid as many encounters as possible, and of course, that meant a lot of deaths too. Although, the flip side, was the ability to be more aggressive with fighting enemies.

Completing a run of the game did unlock an extra character, Ada, and I'm about half way through that run currently. It's not quite as easy, considering the main weapon list is a bit less geared towards offensive strength. Leon begins the mode with a handgun, shotgun and magnum, while Ada gets the Machine Gun, revolver handgun, and a bow gun. The revolver handgun only holds 6 rounds, and reload speed is kinda slow, so it does help to pay attention to shots fired, and reload manually in the inventory screen, otherwise, it's easy to end up getting hit by faster enemies, and if the reload animation is not completely finished, the game makes the weapon reload completely fail.

That was a really fun episode! Plainity and Eyepatch! Sorry Twilight, but an eyepatch isn't going to fool Flim and Flam! Also, ouch, Rarity's "beard pull" on Starswirl! When isn't Chancellor Neighsay all about being completely fixated on "Ponies Good, Everything Else Evil"? He never changes.

I've only played 6 and 8. What were the meeting mechanics in 5?

You could only play as a Ruler (or a vagrant maybe?) It was something like every turn you could pick X actions OR you could ask your officers. You'd get three suggestions of pairs of card/actions and could pick one for only one action. So like maybe you wouldn't get to do exactly what you wanted but you'd get two things for the price of one. I always thought that was a cool strategy space.
