So, I went to the Lacey BBQ festival today.

I may just stop going to events like this all together, it has just become redicilous at this point.

The signs etc, said there was going to be tastings/samples, tons of vendors, live music, plenty of events etc. The event is one day only and started at 11 am, finishing at 7pm.

I got there at noon.

I walk in and see a bunch of lines for people to get samples. Cool, sounds good. I wait in one, and get to the front only to find out they (and most of the other long lines) are all out of the meat samples and only have beans left.

That is bad enough (1 hour into the event), but, I also find out you need to BUY TICKETS to try the samples lol. You have to go to the information booth and buy tickets at $2 each (most people were buying 20$ worth). Thing is, there was a long line of people waiting to buy tickets....none of which knew that the sample places that take them, where out of meat.

I did let some of them know at least and they appreciated it...but it was a total scam.

Meanwhile walked through the rest of the setup. There was a big tent area in the middle which may have live music at some point, but had just had the chicken wing eating contest. It had just finished when I got there. I believe there was 10 conestants or something, but no music, no entertainment at all.

The vendors meanwhile are just normal ones from Lacey, but instead of the normal price they charge for their food at the stores, they were all charging at LEAST 2x the base price. A corn dog? $8 freaking dollars....for a corn dog!! A cup of tea?...not snapple or anythign like that, just water with a tea bag in it? $2...which was the cheapest thing you could get to drink there lol.

Seriously the whole thing was a cash grab, with nothing to do at all, and there was a freakton of people there anyway. It's pathetic, you can put ANY kind of event together and you will get so many people to show up, you can charge insane prices and still sell out of everything.

The samples? The little ketchup cups you use in fast food places to dip your fries in? About the size of a pill cup? That is what the samples were put into...for $2 a pop. You could fill 20 of those with 1 hamburger patty lol. That is like a $40 burger (without buns/pickles etc).

TC got swindled... i'm not proud of this and i'm fucking pissed off at that fucking festival those fuckers are going to pay in court if we can sue em.
